  1. Something like this happened 2 or 3 times to my '93 es300. Once the battery went from fully charged to dead flat in a couple of hours for no apparent reason. One thing I noticed was that each time it happened, I had left the key in the ignition. Now I make a point of removing the key every time I stop the engine. Months later, there has been no further trouble. The cause? What I suspect is the mechanism that tilts the steering wheel up when you switch off. If the mechanism was sticking there might be a drain as the solenoid (or whatever works it) tried to move the wheel. Just a theory!
  2. Eugene, My '93 es300 had a loud rattle at certain rev range. It came from the air conditioner compressor, or the pipes from it. Holding a pipe firmly deadened the noise. I used a couple of nylon cable ties to pull the 2 pipes together a bit. This almost, but not quite, fixed the problem. The air conditioner works fine, by the way. Maybe its some serious internal problem, but I don't think so.
  3. I recently acquired an es300 which would lurch 3 or 4 times when starting, as though you were dabbing on the accelerator. Once it changed into 2nd gear, everything was fine. It was caused by a split in the air intake hose. Air was being sucked in downstream of the air flow sensor, which in turn was altering the amount of fuel injected to compensate for what it "thought" was a reduced air flow. A few wraps of tape fixed everything (temporarily). Hope this helps.
