  1. On my 96 SC400, anytime I back up and apply the brakes, then go forward and apply the brakes, both front brakes make a one-time metallic tap or snap sound. Then they're fine. I suspect the pads are moving in the calipers. The pads have about 40 percent thickness left according to my shop, so I didn't replace them on the shop's advice. It's really just an annoyance since the brakes function fine, but pretty unusual... anyone else had this happen? If so, did new pads/rotors solve the problem?
  2. Hello Lexus crew! My first Lexus is a 1996 400SC, pearl white, with 76,000 miles. Spotted it in a dealer's lot and after a week of negotiations, traded my 96 Tbird for it. It looks and drives like new, a local one-owner that has been dealer maintained every 5K by Hendrick Lexus here in Charlotte. I'll be searching and asking some questions on the SC forum about maintenance and other topics. This car has the smoothest V8 engine I've ever driven...love it!
