  1. I have the same problem with my 93 gs300 but I think it is insane for lexus to charge that kind of money for a cupholder. The only thing wrong with the thing is 2 little clips broken off at the back of the holder. I think I will try to just "jury rig" something to make it work before I pay that kind of cash to the dealer. Im not putting you down for paying it but I just would'nt.
  2. I have the same problem with my 93 gs300. I tried to glue the little clips back that had broken off but it did'nt work so it just pops all the way out and into the floorboard, lol.
  3. I would like to know why they don't have anything for a 93 gs300. Why is it so hard to find any performance parts for this model?
  4. Wow! I did'nt know all that about the illumination but thanks so much for explaining it to me. Can you get these needles from lexus? I guess if you could they would be expensive to buy from lexus. I had thought about just painting it with flourescent orange paint or something but that would look really crappy. At least I would be able to see it though. Anyway, thanks again for your response.
  5. Can't be done as I recall. Cop & paste: Just remove the air intake box. then remove the throttle body , which should consist of two connectors and two coolant hoses and the throttle plate cable. all very easily accessible. once you have the cable, connectors and coolant hoses dissconnected, there is one nut at the bottom of the throttle body and two long screws at the top. slide the throttle body of the rod at the bottom. then remove the three bolt that hold on the big rubber gasket. now disconnect the three coils (which the little clips will break, but dont worry. after removing the wires and coil IMPORTANT!!! blow out all the debris in the alley due to it might fall in the engine while removing the spark plugs. perform service and dont worry if you mix up the coils it wont matter. just make sure the the wire go in the rght spots. then assemble together. Thanks intakergs for your prompt and descriptive response. I am going to try to follow your instructions and see if I can get this done myself. I really appreciate your help for sure.
  6. Waiting for a response to my latest post.

  7. Can anyone tell me how I can remove the spark plugs that are under the intake manifold on my 93 gs300 without having to remove the intake manifold itself? It looks like there just is'nt enough room to pull those plugs up and out from under the manifold. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :(
  8. I paid $ 2 or 300 something for parts and I did it myself save $$$$$ I also did mine myself and was amazed at how easy the whole job was. I changed the water pump, timing belt, and tensioner all in a day's time and spent around 300 dollars for the whole repair. It was the easiest timing belt replacement I have done. 93 gs300.
  9. ---------- PlasticX is great stuff. I would use it even if you don't think you need it. Won't solve water problem though. I have to agree that Meguiars plasticx is really great for cleaning the lenses. I tried it and I was amazed at how good it worked. I am a firm believer in meguiars products anyway. They have always performed great.
  10. I have heard that these new "e3" spark plugs are really great. I haven't tried them yet but probably will soon. They cost about 7 dollars a plug but if they perform like they claim they will then it will be worth the money.
  11. This post has to be a joke. This can't be a serious post. I own a '93 gs300 with more than 160000 miles on it and it does'nt have a third of the problems this person is describing with their gs300. If it has that many problems, I would get rid of it asap. That is just unbelievable from a car with the reputation for reliability that lexus has.
  12. I had noticed a while back that the red illumination for my speedometer needle had been fading away little by little. Well now it has faded away completely so I can't tell how fast I am going and that is not good when you are traveling on the interstate. I sure don't need any speeding tickets because of a faulty speedometer needle. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how do I go about "fixing" it myself? I am an avid do it yourselfer so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. '93 gs300
  13. I have read that ceramic pads last the longest, leave the least amount of brake dust, and have the least fade. That's what I am going with when it comes time to change my pads.
  14. I am in need of the cup holder if yours is still in operating condition. Mine just pops all the way out of the console lid because the little prongs that keep it in place are broken off. I also need the front passenger side power windows control panel. Mine still works fine but the burlwood panel has flaked off and it looks bad. Does yours have the trunk mounted 12 disc cd player? Mine works but always stops about halfway through the cd and shows an error message. Thats about all I can think of at this time. Thanks.
  15. Thanks so much for the help. I went ahead and tackled the job without any help from the internet and did it in one day, including changing out the water pump and it was a breeze. Ran into no problems and everything went smoothly. This is the third belt I have done and it was the easiest of the three. The other two cars were a nissan sentra and bmw 325es. The bmw was also pretty easy because it too was a rear wheel drive like the lexus. Thanks again for replying and for your help. Greatly appreciated.
