  1. I had my airbags pop off after I lifted my GX. I decided that I did not want the cost of new air bags so I had coils installed an love them. TexGX
  2. I have an 04 with KDSS. I am one of those strange people that does take the GX offroad. The KDSS works great to increase the wheel artictulation. The main reason for KDSS for me would be the improvement on the road. The KDSS version has much less body roll. TexGX
  3. SilverGX, Gig'em! I have taken my GX to General Sam's Off road park north of Huntsville. It is worth a try. TexGX
  4. I had mine done yesterday. They replace the drive shaft and upper/lower control arms. So far So good. I will let you know if it last. TexGX
  5. Hey, can any one post a picture of the wiring diagram for the adaptor that came with the GX? I can not find mine. I just bought the Prodigy for my trailer and can not install it until I see the intructions. TexGX
  6. I meet with the regional rep tomorrow about the clunk. Anyone have any suggestions or technical advice on why it is happening and how it needs to be fixed? I would like to go in knowing as much as possible. TexGX
  7. I have a meeting with the area rep for lexus to look at my clunk problem. Any suggestions on how I should handle the meeting. Also, does anyone have a way to fix the problem that lexus has not found yet. Any techical information on the problem would also be great. TexGX
  8. I use my off-road all the time. Watch out for the running boards. I would not worry about a winch, just wheel with a few friends that can pull you out if needed. Make sure you have the right recovery gear. Never use a strap with metal hooks. As long as you take it slow, you should be alright. I prefer not to go mudding, as this thing is a beast to clean afterwards. TexGX
  9. I had my wife make a custom cover for the back seat. I did not want the dogs scratching up the leather. She used a color matched heavy fabric. The only thing I don't like is it is not water proof. I prefer the dogs in the back seat so we can put the camping gear in the cargo area. TexGX
  10. if u dont mind me asking (i'm just curious), why are you selling ur bug shield??? :o ← I like the way it looks without it on with my grill guard. If I did not have my grill guard, I would not be selling it. I just figured no sense in having it laying around in my garage. TexGX
  11. I have a bug shield for the GX I would like to sell. I would prefer to not ship it. I live in the Houston area and would be willing to meet you anywhere around Houston. Send me a private message if you are interested.
  12. it did happen to me once before and i brought it to the dealer and they reset it. they didn't tell me what happen with it but...good luck ← Did you check the spare tire. I had the same thing happen and it ended up being the spare tire.
  13. I put it on by myself. I think I had my wife help hold it once. I also have the matching taillight covers. The rear right is a pain to instal. It has been great. I have check a few times to make sure that everything is tight and everything still is. TexGX
  14. I would like to get the spare from under the truck to a more practical place. I have research the options and I think I have found an answer. The Prado can have the tire mounted on the door. Does anyone know how I could get the parts used to mount mine on the door? TexGX
  15. There are several grill guards out there. Here is the one from WAAG that I have.
  16. gx470.bmpPrado, Good to here from a fellow off-roader. Not many guys over here take thier GX off-road. The GX does not come in manual in the states. My Gx has handled great off-road. If you look at some of the old post, I think I posted a few of me off-roading in Arizona. I have a ton of questions for you. I have been tring to find out if the ARB roof rack will work with my GX. I want to take off my factory rack and add the ARB one, but I want it to attach to the factory holes. I have seen pictures of the Prado with the tire mounted on the rear door. I wonder if I would need to modify the hindges if I mounted mine on the door. I would like to add the ARB bull quard, but they will not sell it to us in the states. Have you modified your Prado? If so, what did you do. I found the link: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...l=broken++arrow TexGX ←
  17. Hello everyone, For those in the Houston area, a group of us are planning a trip to http://www.generalsams.com/index.php the weekend of July 9th. More information will come as we get closer to that weekend. TexGX
  18. lonewolf69, I would prefer not to have another devise I need to carry. I want a nice clean look by adding a plug. Plus the guys at Radio Shack said it would not work. I just need a good 12v source to tap into, or directions on the best way to run power from the fuse box and hide all the wires. Thanks, TexGX
  19. Lonewolf69. I have tried that, but the set up does not work. I asked the guys at Radio Shack and they said you can not convert 12 to 110 back to 12. I pulled off the rear panel last weekend and could not find any 12v source to tap into. It looks like I will have to run a source from the fuse box. TexGX
  20. I would like to add 12v plug to the cargo area. I find myself needing to run wires to the plug up front. The regular plug is ok, but I would use the 12v more. Just wanted to see if anyone has added a 12v plug? Can I tap into the power going to the current plug? How easy is it to remove the side panel on the passager side of the cargo area? Any help would be great. TexGX
  21. Hey Guy, Quick question. What is the best way to connect a iPod Mini to the GX? I have a 04 with Nav. I am looking for the best sound quality and easy of use. I know that one thread talked about it working though the Nav unit, but seemed that sound quality was not the best. Any help would be great. TexGX
  22. This weekend I went off-road with a group of people. It ended up being pretty muddy. After we were done, I went to a car wash to get all the heavy stuff off. When I got home, I saw that where ever the mud was, there was a spot. I have tried ScratchX, clay, and cleaner but nothing is working. Any suggestions? The mud consisted mainly of red clay.
  23. I am using the Trailex as a guide. I am working on sliders now. I can not make my mind up about an ARB bumper.
  24. Tex GX, Who makes that grill guard you have? I like the way it looks. Thanks ← Waag makes it. I put it on myself. Very easy, bolts right on. I also have the matching tail light covers.
  25. Here is the one I bought from my dealer. The grill guard is kinda blocking it.
