I just bought a certified pre-owned 2007 ES 350. It comes with a 3 yrs/100K warranty. The dealership offered me extended platinum coverage. $2500 for 6yr/100K + tax. I saw many threads regarding platinum coverage. I understand you can get these from any dealership. A couple of dealers, Toby for e.g., have been offering platinum protection for much better value.
What I am not sure about is this: are these offers from other dealers applicable also to certified car purchases? Or can that only be offered by the dealer from whom I bought my car?
Since I already have a 3 yrs. warranty ahead of me, obviously it wouldn't make sense to buy a 6 yr. extended warranty if it does not take off from the date I bought the car.
