  1. Glad I could help! The ebay says used this means you will have to clean off the adhesive and put on new double sided tape. the RC car guys have a thin double side tape that works good. If the used emblem has the !Removed! on it I would not drill holes just cut them off just be careful to put it on straight, those holes are just for alignment. the LS 460's do not have holes.
  2. Follow this to start http://www.toyo.com.au/tech_info14.htm Read this http://www.aa1car.com/library/tires2.htm If your tire guy doesn't have a runout gauge then you need to find a shop that does. this is a must to do it right and to make sure your wheels and tires are OK.
  3. Funny how no one checks this area for tire pressure they look at the tire and see the max or they use the standard 40psi..Also save your rotors check your wheel lug torques. 21 mm socket and a 40.00 dollar torque wrench. It is rare that any shop check this. On the 460 110 ft/lbs. Pre 460 95ft/lbs
  4. I suppose with the direct injector noise they figured whats a little chain noise. The older engines are definitely quieter. By a long shot..
  5. After your repair fails this is another option http://www.parts-express.com/speakerrepaircenter/index.cfm
  6. OK you have maybe never watched the Megafactories or Ultimate Factories video's if not you can get them off torrents or usenet. After you watch them a few times you can go to Lexus.jp and watch the tahara plant videos. It should take more than a few hours to figure out some of the differences. when I stated that Lambo can be put together with craftsman tools I wasn't kidding watch the video. Then spend time on the forums, in my case about 15 years. A bigger picture develops then shiny plastic parts and leather. It is a culture of making the best that the Japanese can make to show the world. I learned some basic things like I want my auto made with Denso electrics not Bosch or Siemens. Lexus LS engines, transmissions you can find a better engineered and produced drivetrain? If you want to focus on the plastic parts go head when you start to understand the engineering aspects and the motivations of the people building and designing these automobiles you will have a clearer picture. Buy the service manuals and read them do the same for others slowly the light will come on..

  8. Drain and refill the coolant once or twice a year?????? That's what I do but I have LEXUS OCD.
  9. Hi Mike I found a hookup for the 430 and specs for the 400 and SST info hope this helps. pg 11-8 11 - Fuel System.pdf sst.pdf serdat.pdf
  10. Yes unless you use very light pressure on the gas it can be irritating. I keep it in S6 unless I exceed 80MPH. So I rarely go to S6 but it works..This car wants to go fast, I find myself breaking 80 very often..
  11. Some will disagree with me for this but save up for a 430, the amount of car you get jumping to the 430 is like going to a 460 from a 430. For a few more dollars you get much more automobile.I loved my earlier LS's but the jump to the 430 was amazing.
  12. seemed to be a problem for some in other forums. Since this is the best forum I will post it here.
  13. I have had 5 or 6 side mirrors replaced when they wouldn't adjust or fold. Additionally. the PAX door controller had to be replaced once. Fortunately all were under warranty at +/- $500 each. If it happens again, now that I am out of warranty, I will most-likely adjust them and leave them alone. My 2001 LS430 has the same issue, at times. Usually occurs after car is washed. I had taken it to the dealer once, but they said there was nothing they could do. Sorry can't help! Yes the mirror pops off. I used to just pull it from the lower corner and it would pop out. After that it is up to you.
  14. I did to my 99 LS here is a pix for you..
  15. Black on Black awesome. Alot of car for the money. :)
  16. ditto the above. You have to be sure if its idle issue only or at all speeds. If all speeds then it is more likely ignition as fuel starvation would be more of an issue at higher engine loads. If it’s a bigger problem at higher engine load it could be fuel pump, pressure regulator, or (clogged) fuel filter. There are two fuel pump relays one to turn it on the other to switch in a series resistor which gives a two speed operation to the pump. If it gets stuck on high speed (resistor shorted) you shouldn’t see any problems but could wear out pump faster than with normal two speed operation. Most users seem to have ignition problems on these cars more commonly than fuel problems. I’d rule out ignition first. The usual way to rule out fuel flow and pressure problems is to hook up the fuel pressure gauge tape it to the front window and go for a drive.
  17. This is why going to a indie shop is like rolling the dice, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. It needs to be torn down again and they don't want to do it.
  18. Thanks for the info, even if you dont know all the answers..Doing this next week, will repost details. FYI I just open the drain(you have to remove the cover running over the radiator to see the drain). You will also see a hole though the lower cover that you can put a pan under to catch the old coolant. Take the radiator cap and the reservoir cap off. This should drain the radiator and 1 gal of antifreeze 50/50 toyota red should be all that is needed. After you refill the radiator and with the engine warming up put the caps back on and have the vent on top of the thermostat housing open and use this to let the air out and the final filling is added here. After a drive top off the Reservoir. Do this once or twice a year and your fluid will stay fresh.
  19. Just did the rear brakes on a LS430 03 and the right rear brakes had a sensor on too.
  20. If you wait you will have to replace the sensor as it will wear though the wire in the sensor.
  21. VW Phaeton? Couldn't give those nightmare on wheels away in this region.
