  1. I recently installed a set of 93 LS-400 rims on my 1992. They work fine, and the car handles better. Be sure and get a good set of tires to go with the rims. Oh yea, the 93 and 94 rims are the same.
  2. Hey guys, I have been having some problems with my 1992 LS-400's A/C. A few days ago, the check engine light came on. Within a day the A/C went out on my wife (boy was she hot, literally and physically). My local mechanic hooked it up to a vacuum line, but could not find the leak. He put dye in system to help him find the leak the next time it happened. I picked the car up on Saturday and realized it was not blowing as cold of air as it had in the past. I drove for while and it began to blow warm air. Per the mechanic, he still could not find a leak, but said it could be a problem with A/C Control Unit or the fact the A/C rubber hose is deteriorating on the inside and is causing a blockage in the system. I'm hoping maybe someone has some ideas or can let me know if the older models had problems with hose deterioration. Thanks P.S. Still the best informative site on the www
  3. Someone has to know of a good brand shock for the LS. Thanks
  4. I've been replacing a lot of things on my 92 LS400. I have about 138,000 on it and it runs great. I did notice the other day I began to get a bounce when the car went over dips in the road. I want to replace the shocks. Anyone have any advice on a good brand which will hold up. Also, should I replace the anti-roll bar bushings? Thanks.
  5. Mike, I have the same problem with my 92 LS 400 as well as the cruise control is not functioning. My mechanic said there is a small computer (maybe chip) behind the dash which controls the remote mirrors and cruise control. I have no idea on the cost. Imagine it is expensive.
  6. I have not replaced P/S pump yet. Ordered parts from Internet. Soon as they arrive, I will have a good mechanic install. I was also told that I have to replace the P/S pressure hose because this is what is broke apart and destroyed my pump. I have also noticed a leak coming from my steering rack. That will be next.
  7. Had a mechanic check the PS pumb. He said the PS pressure line/hose was breaking apart inside and causing rubber particles to fall into the pump. Drained the PS fluid and showed me the black particles. He also said my steering gear assembly needs to be replaced or a quick fix would be to add some sealant. My question: Should I purchase a rebuilt PS pump? Also, this guy is telling me that the PS pressure hose is only available through Lexus and cost approx. $320. Does that sound right? Thx.
  8. I'll check the color of the PS fluid and post. thx
  9. This forum is great. In addition to my other problems, a more important problem my be developing. I have noticed a high pitched whinning coming from the engine. I'm thinking it is the power steering pump going bad because it is getting harder to steer. The whinning is constant, not just when the car is turning. Any help will be appreciated. 1992 LS400 Thx.
  10. Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum so bear with me. I have a 1992 LS400 and my remote mirrors are not functioning. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. On a similar note. My cruse control is also not working. Could they be connected in any way?
  11. Have you found a set yet? May have a solution for you...
  12. I would spend a buck fifty for one if you wind up ordering bulk. From, magalicano
