  1. gas and oil - on top of following the scheduled maintenance on this car and she'll treat you good.
  2. HA! You chose the absolute WORST platform for this style. Get a 2GS
  3. The saddle interior alone would have me sold... Coupled with black chrome emblems. I've never heard of this though, just like the 02-06 apparently had a very very RARE option of coming as a 'sport design' [albeit nothing sporty about it...]
  4. The front fogs are probably not the big problem here... you guys are ignoring the rear fog on all euro cars. Those are really bright, it can light up A LOT of the road in dark weather. And an eyesore when its nice out and you see a VW running around with the equivalent of a high beam in red facing you.
  5. wont work. A lot of Lexus parts are in Atlanta! Their craigslist is filled with companies parting out 00-01 ES's.
  6. Tire pressure? <- only other possibility. Not sure what it could be. I would get this on/off before i changed my struts and now in the winter with smaller wheels [16"] and all around endlinks/bushings/struts its fine.
  7. I wasn't sure. And i did not see the '171' series on rockauto when i made my order a coupe months back... I saw Amazon had the 171's, and tried to see a difference. I'm assuming its an older line up of struts/components. I got the '271' series on my ES300 all around, ran me <600$ shipped for all four. Hope this helps.
  8. ^ if that code doesn't work, here's another good until Feb, 19th, 2012. code = 78445036146009 You get an email from them after you made one order with free codes <- that's customer service. Not only do you save me money, you want to give me MORE of a discount?! I'll take it. :D
  9. simple test is swap the good bulb and swap to other questionable side. Afterwards get a new 'spare' kit [i have extra ballasts and bulbs sitting for this event, just in case]
  10. JUNK. Just like all of the eBay ones. Unless they're Putco, they blow out prematurely. There was one set i bought way back for <10$ and it lasted 1.5 years, until i removed them given their output was non-existant and *BLEEP* poor. One of those 'for show things'. And HID's kill these housings [00-01], the pre-00's i wouldn't worry due to frosted lens, but the 00+ has a clear one and the chrome bubbled due to my HID's [35w slim ballast]. Now i replaced my OEM Koito 'white' bulbs and actually get light output as it was intended to be.
  11. I don't trust eBay for parts like that. Especially when you can get brand name parts from www.Rockauto.com for better than eBay pricing without the questionable 'white box' quality and no warranty... I'm debating this too, considering the new control arm [for a 2001] on rockauto works out to 120$ more for the two in the front than just the bushings & balljoints. But i don't need to change mine yet.
  12. WOW!500$ for 2 hid kits.Right now the price is only 40dollar/hid kits,I didnt't know hid kits was that expensive. OEM kits, ALWAYS are worth money, then again, those are the ones that last more than 5yrs without any issues unlike aftermarkets. Second, this thread is now 7 YEARS OLD, so yes, they were around 250$/kit in 2005.
  13. Common problem, you need a ground loop isolator, found at your local Radio Shack. Happens to everyone with an aftermarket deck in these cars.
  14. after 2001... So the facelifted 2002+ [along with all other toyota/lexus models] like the RX-series.
