  1. Removing stuff inside your car does help but not a great deal because they are sprung weight. If you really want to 'remove' weight you probably want to invest in lightweight rims instead, because any weight on the wheels add to the rotational inertia directly.
  2. You can also try getting your damaged rim refinished or repaired.
  3. Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm thinking about dedicated Winters and Summer Tires... would that be a good idea? We have pretty bad winter weather up here and usually requires a good full winter tire to move around. Al
  4. Hi All, I am considering whether to change the MXV4 stock tires that came with my 1999 Lexus ES300 this season this end season. It still has roughly around 60% tread left but it is around 5 years old now with 41k driven on it. It is also driven in winter for the past 5 years. I have been noticing the car is a little bit harder to stop during the past year and seems more slippery on wet services. I'm a little jiffy about this upcoming winter season because of the snow and ice we get here in T.O. and know that 60% tread left is not recommended for winter driving Please Advise, Thanks, Al
  5. Have you checked if its a license plate rattle problem?
  6. yea... i think its around 120 for align, 40 for bulb (which if I knew how to install would cost like 12 bucks), and 25 for an emissions test (which should be scrapped because its a waste of money)
  7. That's like with any car company. They will nail you in the service and parts. That is why there are so many aftermarket parts out there built for each model.
  8. I drive a daily commuter in the Acura EL, which is essentially an Acura wrapped with the Civic Si's engine. I find that if I fuel it up with 87 gas, the engine feels a little rougher and it is a little bit noisier, which is suspected because of the extra pinging in the pistons. But powerwise and mileage, there isn't really that much of a difference.
  9. Hey thanks everyone, Took the car to the dealership and changed the bulb + redid alignment. Fixed everything... even tho it cost an arm and a leg (around $200 for both!!!).
  10. Hey all, I'm new here and really happy to find such a great forum for Lexus owners here. I currently own a onyx black 99 Lexus ES300 that has been a great drive so far. Recently, I've noticed two problems starting to surface with my Lexus. The first is my right turn signal, it seems to be flickering (and clicks) very quickly on the dash display where my left turning signal flickers normally. I tried checking outside and it seems like my right turn signal up front is very dim. Could this quick flickering be a problem with my right turning light bulb and what model of bulb do I need to replace it with? The second problem deals with my steering wheel. It seems around 7-10 degrees off to the right in order to center the car. Would a normal alignment solve this problem? Thanks in advance, Cheers, AC
