  1. I am considering buying an `01 RX300. This is from a Toyota dealer so no CPO...which does not bother me...I think it is why over priced with this anyway. What I want to know from anyone is my demands on purchase. I told the salesman I am not going to pay a dime over $25k. It has 38k miles and I want him to put a spoiler on it. I have been looking at these vehicles for about 2 months and the Lexus dealer will not come off of the CPO price of say $28k to $29k. Also any other tips when buying from a non Lexus dealer? It looks like it could use a good detail in and out. Battery dead upon test drive...should I demand a new battery? I am slo interested in getting HID lights...any tips on that? I know this is lot but I am hoping to buy this week!! Thanks to all. Colorado
  2. Can someone tell me how to tell the difference between an all wheel and 2 wheel drive 2001 RX300? I heard it can be determined through the VIN number but don't know how? Thanks, Colorado
  3. I agree... let the dealer know you found basically the same car at another dealer...but not a Lexus dealer. Coast to Coast in Indiana has one right now for $21,990. Let the Lexus dealer know the CPO isn't worth $3,000. They build these cars to last, not have problems. I am currently negogiating one right now. I told the Lexus dealer I am not interested in the CPO and he said he could sell it without it. If that's the case then it appears they service these cars, throw them on the lot and then just throw on the extra warranty...knowing they probably won't have a problem. However if they do have a problem the cost won't be that much to the dealer since they sell so many cars overpriced with a CPO stamp.
  4. I am looking at buying a 2000 RX300. Both dealers that have these are not Lexus and obviously they are not CPO. The Lexus dealers here are asking too much and won't bargain much at all. Both have around 50,000 miles. One is at $22,900 and the other is at $25,900. Now concerning the actual Lexus dealers. Any tips on trying to get them to lower their prices? They seem too snobish to deal with.
