  1. At the moment there are virtually NO aftermarket parts for an ES350. This car has been on the market for less then 2 months, so the manufacturers are reluctant to start producing parts until they get the lay of the land. This could take at least a year.
  2. Actually, the amount of Lexus touch-up paint is only 14ml. :) You're right Al. I was at work when I posted up. Guestimated the size but I guess I'm way off Now to get more technical. If Lexus charges about $10 for 14ml of paint, then figure out how much they'll charge for 6 ounces. The conversion rate is, 14 milliliter = 0.473396316 US fluid ounce. Woweee!!!! LOL
  3. In other words, you want me to believe that a body shop would paint ½ a door and try to blend in the painted area? I don't think so! Any reputable body shop is aware of the difficulties in trying this, unless it's those guys on the street that come up to you and say, "Hey man, you want your dents straightened & painted, Cheap!!
  4. Actually, the amount of Lexus touch-up paint is only 14ml. :)
  5. Possibly slightly low refrigerant level.
  6. Never mind.......here's the correct answer I got from another message board.
  7. WOW! Can somebody tell me what burnouts prove? I think that it's the dumbest thing that anyone could do to a nice automobile. They're immature a-holes! :chairshot:
  8. If you pop open the hood on an ES350 you'll see a plastic cover that covers most everything in the engine compartment. In the owners manual they tell you how to remove it, but my question is, what kind of tool is required to do this job....without destroying the clips that hold it in? Is there some sort of tool to release these clips?
  9. thanks for the reply, not out to play race car, just a thought. I wonder if people with all the tranny problems tried this. thanks again. Timothy Sure, the ECM that controls shifting will prevent you from over revving the engine, but by no means was it designed to be used this way as the normal way of driving. It WILL definitely shorten the useful life of the transmission. And yes, I tried every means to make this transmission shift properly.....but it ended up I had to trade in my '03ES for an '07ES to correct this problem. LOL :)
  10. Oh yeah......Now I see the orange peel.
  11. I guess it's time for me to get a new computer monitor 'cause I don't see any orange peel.
  12. Sorry.....in my estimation it's virtually impossible to tell anything about the paint blend from a photo! Too many reflections for an honest evaluation. Ya gotta see the car in person.
  13. It's really hard to see the damage from these photo's, because you can't tell whether it's a poor paint match or just reflections off the photo's. What area(s) of the car body are we looking for?
  14. You just can't tap into any old wire that supplies 12 Volts, either switched or unswitched. You have to know the current draw(amperes) and other factors that the new amp requires. This is why a wiring schematic is needed.
  15. You're a very understanding guy.....and that's why she loves you.
  16. isnt there keyless entry on almost every year of the ES? What he's talking about is the "Smart Access System with Push button Start. If a person has the Wireless remote control in his/her pocket or pocketbook, you can walk up to the car and it will automatically unlock the doors or trunk, and the interior lights and puddle lamps illuminate. Then when you're in the drivers seat you put your foot on the brake and press the button on the dashboard to start the engine. No key is needed! A very cool feature! :)
  17. Thanks for the suggestion. That's the phone I was thinking about, but I just checked my Verizon contract and I have 3 more months to go, and by that time the Razr will probably be obsolete. hehe :)
  18. As always Steve, a very thorough, unbiased writeup of a great new auto. Good job! ;) All I can say is, I'm having a blast driving it, and enjoying all the new toys. One question: My Verizon cellphone contract is up soon, so maybe you can suggest a new carrier or just a new Bluetooth cellphone that'll give me the best compatibility in my car? I know you're the cellphone maven. LOL
  19. Hey Steve- Where ya been hanging out.....I sorta missed you. Vacation? ;)
  20. I'm curious as to why you would want to make this type of tire change? :)
  21. Stevie- I spoke to the dealer today and they wanted $699.00 installed for those strips!! Outrageous. I doubt whether I'll put them on, besides I like the slab sided look of the ES350. ;)
  22. Dead link.....here's the message>> Error 404 The page you are looking for could not be found. It may have been removed, or is otherwise unavailable.
  23. I would like it mandatory that everyone else puts the protective strips on their cars. Alan, I too have a handful of reminders from thoughtless people. The strips will protect the edge of your door, but not against the fool how doesn't think before they open theirs. Go with the lip spoiler instead. steviej I'm going to wait until my dealer gets in some of the accessories and then check em out, but as of yet they don't have anything for the 350's.....including touch up paint!
