  1. Wrong! Unless it's a UL car it's nav/NOT lev. The Mark Levinson audio is only supplied in this model ES. I don't trust the "Build your Own" feature on the Lexus website!! It's been proven to be wrong! The best thing for you to do is go to your dealer and ASK if they can get you the model you're after!
  2. I bought my UL Edition April 3rd. 2006 from my dealer who's located in Brooklyn, NY. (Bay Ridge Lexus) When I went to Lexus.com when I was looking to purchase this car, then put in my zip code, it did not indicate that the UL Editions were available in my area, yet my dealer had the one I bought, and then afterwards they didn't get another UL Edition for at least a few months. My salesman told me recently that they still get this model, but basically it's on special order. Today, I went to Lexus.com, and they still do not indicate thet the UL model is available in my area, yet they're around. BTW: You CAN"T get the Mark Levinson package unless you get the UL Edition. I would ask the dealer if they're able to get the model you're interested in.
  3. Too many choices would make them crazy on the assembly line. :) I found out early on that the ML audio, panoramic roof, an upgraded leather(with the drivers seat extension) was only offered in the UL Edition. :(
  4. The car looks great. In fact, maybe SW03ES will buy one if the lease is right. hehe
  5. Yup, the feel of the leather in the UL Editon is far superior then the standard ES's. Another point is how much I love the panoramic moonroof. When the inside shades are open, the car has a bright, open feeling that you don't get at all on the standard moonroof. My rear seat passengers love it!
  6. Why Steve......didn't you know I ordered my ES with quadruple stitched leather seats, and I had my friends from the Steinway piano company refinish the wood with a deeper lustrous, grainier finish. I also ordered custom gauges from the Rolex watch company.....with 'lil diamonds for each 10 miles per hour indications. hehe :P

  8. Don't do it.......it'll make your car look old fashioned. IMO ;)
  9. 1. 1930 Ford Model A Roadster 2. 1947 Tucker 3. Elmo or Grover
  10. I guess they use some sort of solvent in the freshener that reacted with the plastic. I would tell your niece to contact them here> http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/...t%20Information
  11. You could get the remote starter installed if you wish. In this case, you leave your climate control turned on the night before, so when you get into your car the next morning the heater would have warmed up the cars interior. It's true that if you start up a cold engine it's only necessary to run the engine for about 30 seconds before you start to drive the car, but you should not drive the car hard until the coolant temperature gauge reads the proper operating temperature......about half way up on the temp scale.
  12. The oil that came in your engine from the factory is NOT synthetic. I would follow the recommendations set by the manufacturer and wait until the car has around 5000 miles, under normal driving conditions. ;)
  13. Sorry fellas, I don't agree with your feelings comparing the GS with the ES. For the past month I've been driving my cousins '06 GS300AWD with less then 2K miles on the odometer, and after putting on about 1K miles, on both city & highway, I came to these conclusions. The ride was hard.......I always felt cramped in the drivers seat......my rear passengers didn't like the hump in the middle(drive train), and also the lack of leg room........the trunk was too small.....and rattles developed in the dash. These tradeoffs for a more sporty driving car left me with very negative feelings! On the other hand, when I went back to my ES350 I once again felt like I was being coddled in a car that gave me, and my passengers a much more spacious feeling........a much smoother, quieter ride. Every one of my passengers definitely preferred driving in the ES over the GS. The secondary things like the shape of the oval dashboard or the carpeting did not bother anybody in the least, including myself. Aaah.....it was like a breath of fresh air jumping back to my old ES350. So there! :)
  14. In your owners manual there is a description, with illustrations, how to remove the DVD Navigation disc. The button you're pushing is to unload the CD's.

  17. There certainly is a forum for these model cars! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=1
  18. What year cars are you asking about?
  19. Then try setting your temperature control to the 'coldest' and then leave the complete system off and out of recirculation. Use the fan to move the hot air out of the ducts.
  20. The reason you're getting hot air out of the vents is because of the heat from the engine compartment. This is normal. If you try turning down the temperature control with the compressor turned on to cool the air, then turning off the climate control system, and have the recirculation off that might help. Actually, the climate control was designed to work with the heater and cooling unit operating together, and constantly modifying the cabin temperature. Nothing to worry about though. :)
  21. I would insist that they order OEM glass to do this replacement. There are too many variables with aftermarket glass. Using the OEM glass, and installed by professional, qualified, auto glass people should ensure that the job will fit as well as the original installation. Generally, glass work is NOT done by Lexus service departments, but farmed out to companies that specialize in this type work. If the scratch is not too deep, there are companies that have methods to reduce, or completely remove these scratches. Personally, I would try this method before going to the hassle of replacing the glass, but that's your call.
  22. They seems like a sleazy company!! They say on their website that they will have a new site as of July, 2006. Today is October 18th. 2006! This is why etailers get a bad name. :chairshot:
