  1. Can't tell you for sure since that was the change over year......From my understanding some of the early models of 1994 Lexus' still used R12.
  2. Lexus cars that came from the factory without the heated seat option use a different wiring harness that does not have the necessary plugs for this operation. To do this you'll need, the proper harness, new/used seats that include the heater elements, switches, relays, and anything else that is normally used on cars so equipped. Very expensive conversion!!! My suggestion to you is to buy aftermarket heated seat pads that'll plug in to your cigarette lighter. Much easier and cheaper. :)
  3. Private individuals cannot purchase R-12 and professionals can with IMACA or ASE permits. Even then it has to be 30# service tanks. R-12 (Freon) has not been manufactured since 1995.
  4. Probably caused by air pollution in your neighborhood. I use "Turtle Wax T420B Clearvue Professional Glass Cleaner"......works great!
  5. NO! All those compressors you listed are designed to use R-134a coolant. Your car was designed to use R12 Freon. Lexus switched to R-134a starting with their 1994 ES because of a mandate outlawing R12 Freon for use in automobile air conditioners. The R12 Freon depletes the ozone layer. You can upgrade your air conditioner system to use this R-134a, but it requires that you buy a new/rebuilt compressor plus other parts to make it work properly.
  6. Thanks all. :)

  8. Thank you very much dc. :) You probably realize by now that I'm probably the oldest member(75) of LOC.........but a hip, old grumpy man, nevertheless. LOL
  9. Thank you. I did just that. The headache of maintenance delays because a repair facility could not find a misplaced star key are now gone. As is the trauma of the owner/operator being unable to use the key because it would not securely engage. It must be lack of quality or a poor design for the keys. They should be as reliable as a regular lug, but they are clearly not. It just so happens that the security lug nuts are NOT manufactured by Lexus, but by McGard! You would really appreciate them after a thief tried to steal your beautiful alloy wheels and tires. B) http://www.mcgard.com/automotive/
  10. Just push the Map/Voice button which is the top button on the right side of the NAV unit. The map will jump back to the normal position. :)
  11. Wrong. It's only a mechanical device that can break down just like any other appliance, but the Toyota Motor car Company has a better reputation for durability and reliability than most other manufacturers. :)
  12. You got that right! :whistles:
  13. When I bought my new 2003 ES300 in the Spring of 2003 the DVD Navigation disc installed was, Data ver.02.1. This means that disc I had was produced in 2002, even though I had the '03 ES. I then upgraded this disc in 2004, but it cost me about $325. I doubt whether your dealer will give you the current DVD for your NAV free. The best thing is to ask him/her. Personally, I would make this update though, because there have been many new changes in roads and Points of Interest since 2002.
  14. This is the first time I ever heard of a dead battery problem on a new ES350 or any new Lexus, and yes, Lexus will come out and do what's necessary to do this repair. Since the trac light code is on, there is a deeper problem that has to be addressed by Lexus dealer service. There will be absolutely no cost involved......the car is 100% guaranteed! Call this telephone # 800-255-3987 (Lexus Customer Satisfaction)
  15. Yes, they have free shipping, but a very limited supply of OEM parts for Lexus, if any. This I know......I tried them before. :whistles:
