  1. I know the sound you are talking about. Something definitely kicks in after opening the door. Seems to be coming from the engine compartment on the driver's side. In terms of breaking or slowing noise, you do hear it but I can't say it bugs me. I personally enjoy the HS because of its technology. It's a more intelligent car if you will and the hybrid noises remind me of it. Now, while I've had my car for a year, I've recently just noticed that when slowing down after acceleration but not breaking, the sound that comes out of the hybrid system sometimes feels like an uneven wheel spinning. Don't know if it was there before but I just noticed it. Anybody know what I mean? Normal or my car needs servicing?

  3. Thanks. I know for sure it's not part of the XM trial here in Canada. We actually get 6 months free up here but it's only radio. I suspect it's because NavTraffic service was just recently launched and is only available in a handful of Canadian cities. I've given it a shot and called XM to activate NavTraffic. They told it would be active next business day which is Monday. I'll see then if it works. They couldn't tell me if I needed to do anything on the vehicle to activate it. I guess I'll soon find out.
  4. Hello. Wondering if anybody on here has tried to activate XM NavTraffic here in Canada on an HS250h? I've recently purchased an HS250h Ultra Premium here in Montreal and I'd like to add NavTraffic service to my navigation system. Is the HS250h compatible with it? If so, can I just subscribe to it through XM and it will work or is there any upgrade required at the dealership? Thanks in advance for the information. NP
  5. I'm willing to believe the problem is not using playlists. I was preparing a digital photo frame as a Christmas gift for my mother today and kept having problems copying all of the photos (500 or so) onto the SD memory card. What I had forgotten is that most memory cards has a limit to the number of files they'll accept in the root directory. So I created a folder and was easily able to copy all 500 photos into it. This doesn't apply directly to the Ipod, but I could easily see the same kind of limitation existing in the way the Lexus audio system reads the Ipod. I only got my HS last night and I tested it today with my son's Ipod touch, where he has about 3000 songs. Scrolling through the longs lists was a list slow, but we had no crashes at all. I have an iPhone as well with my HS250h. I'm not experiencing crashes like you are but I do get the initial error message you do. I found the way to work around that is to turn off the iPhone, connect it to the car vis USB and then turn it on. It then works fine and never crashes. My iPhone is a 3GS. I do have to say the interface on the Nav system is not the best. Scrolling through songs is not as smooth as it is on the iPhone itself. The car's manual specifies that the iPod touch and iPhone are not compatible. Perhaps that's the best we an expect given that. The other option is to connect it through Bluetooth and stream the music that way. You can't control it from the Nav system (aside from pause/play and volume) but it connects everytime for me with no error message. I'll let you all know if I find anything else.
  6. Thanks for the replies. The reason I was asking about it is that I understand the battery pack is composed of several independent batteries. Given I never seem to be able to charge the last 'bar', my hypothesis was that one of the independent battery was not functioning. That being said, I've otherwise noticed what you've noticed. I tend to be around the 80 to 90% charge most of the time.
  7. Hello all. Have had my HS250h for two weeks now. Really love the car. One question though with regards to battery charge. I can't seem to be able to ever charge it completely. The last 'bar' never gets charged. Now it's winter and cold where I live so perhaps that affects the battery. Anybody ever fully charges their battery? Thanks in advance.
