  1. The position that the cat's are located restrict exhaust air flow, you want to get them as flat as possible,
  2. I certainly will keep in touch, I never will compare the quality of Lexus to that of a Chevy, but im happy, its in my budget, but i already have my eye on another 92 LS, my neighboors, they told me they would have sold it to me istead pf getting that crappy Lexus i got from the dealer...i should have known, they have it in preatty good condition, w/120k miles on it, id say they put about 20miles per week and that seems like a lot. Its in tip top shape and i get a long good with their son, they're Vietnameese. I dont know, i llike it and i told them to keep it for another year and a half, they said they're not interested in selling it, but they will make an exception with me....I told my fiance I want to buy it, and maybe i just might, probably late next year.
  3. Congrats man, im sure thats going to work out perfect
  4. Thanks 99LS...I definitly will....considering the condition of my car, im starting to miss it when I see other around..
  5. Thanks a lot for your responses, some of you, maybe im not as lucky to have as much money to keep the lexus as many people on here are. It was dripping wet from rain the other day...and no the sunroof wasnt open. The PS had just gone out, everytime I used the A/C I had a wet carpet not to mention the smell, the suspension was awfull and getting worse, might I add some kind of bushing or seal came off from somewhere in the suspension, when I pulled out of the driveway it was just there, thats when the clunking got even louder. I had some kind of air leak, as to where I could hear the raod noise, and the sound of a window open when i drove over 40mph, it was really anoying, the wind was coming trought dash vents. There was a sound in the engine, as if the lifters where about to come out. When i braked the car would wiggle from side to side, and when i depressed the brake it would do the same, "the brakes and rotors where fine, had them checked and I saw them personally...So I think thats pretty much about it.... Once again thanks to all....In the future I will defenitly buy another Lexus, but be more carefull what i choose, Im a Chevy Guy what can I say, just like you guys are Lexus people...You like what you like....But I will buy another lexus possibly a SC400 since it will be for fun only....Thanks
  6. Well ladies and gentelmen...I guess this is Good-Bye...This weekedn I parted out my '92 LS400 151K miles...I traded in for an '05 Chevy Malibu...everyone on here was really great...love that website the Lexls had, really helpfull...overall everyone here was really helpfull..maybe down the line I might just buy another Lexo...i got used to it...but this time i'll be sure to check it out very very carefully... Thanks and Farewell...I'll stop buy from time to time...great website... Travieso~13
  7. I paid $35 for my Alignment...Some Shop in North Hollywood...my dad always takes his cars there...they did a good job
  8. Id say...that little switch under the pedal is hella fun...the car just shoots like a bottle rocket...I love this car...Luxury+Speed=A very happy me...very little people know on the streets that this car is what I like to call "A SLEEPER"...I've had people tell me..."Wow...that car has a V8...." Thats what I like Fast Luxury for something I can afford for know...The 0-60 is about the same as my '90 Mustang GT would give me...
  9. I agree SRK...I went to the store a few hours ago and tested twice...both runs gave me about 9seconds 0-60...I wouldnt give it all the gas but when second gear kicked in I would floor it and it went...the other day I took off w/a buddy of mine, he has a '74 Pontiac Formula 400...he has it a bit supped up...he took off a lil ahead of me probly about 1/3 of the car...then when I hit second gear I just flew by him...I stopped though cause I have a DUI and a speeding ticket...and a couple of points on my license...this car has potential for power and and speed a lot i'd say most people dont like more power on these...I would personally go all out...either that or buy a nice dream car which is the '04 GTO...hopefully I keep my LS too.... just my 2 cents
  10. If you floor it your just drowining it with gas...give your self a limit and dont let it redline on the first gear...another thing is check your tire pressure...also...try getting to about 25mph then hit the gas...you'll see that your LS will fly...just limit the acceleration at the take off...try and get it to throw in second gear @ about 4300rpm, then work on it from there...your car wont have take off, but your sure to blow some people by at higher speeds...just my two cents...if you know how to shift properly you can start off on low gear(1) then change the gears yoursellf...but if your not to experienced with that dont do it...you might hurt your tranny Travieso~13
  11. Welcome and congrats on your "new" LS!!! What you can do is what I want on mine...you could change the exhaust, like flowmaster or borla...if emissions isnt a problem customize your own exhaust system...you can add and air intake system, from injen perhaps...upgrade your brakes to drilled rotters...or if you have the funds and want all out...look for lextacy in this forum...you could supercharge your LS for about $5k...just some suggestions....Again welcome and Congrats Travieso~13
  12. Your best bet if you want to do that is try going to Best Buy(or similar) or a Audio shop or something. They sell wire harnesses that let you connect amps to your stock audio. I think its some kind of modulador...it should be anywhere from $20-$40. My brother did that on his '01 Tahoe. Hope this helps Travieso~13
  13. Thanks, So that would explain the noise at high speeds? By the way how would I go about closing those? Do you have yours closed? Where should I look? Once again thanks for your help travieso~13
  14. Thanks i'll check that out today when I get home
  15. Hey whats up to all you peeps again!!! Congrats on the new look...lookin good! I seem to have a problem yet again...when I drive @ about 40mph and over, I noticed that there is air coming in through the front dash. I thought it was coming from the window but I realized that it's coming through the vent on the dash near the window, the one where the defrost comes through. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to solve this? It is very annoying, I have to turn up the radio to not hear it. Once again thanks for all your help and suggestions, Traveiso~13
  16. First question>>>Sorry I dont have it I looked at it and it disapointed me, sorry, but i do have a 8" Audiobahn that I put in but know I took it out because I put an aftermarket stero amp and another sub(12") Second question>>>Its very simple you just remove the speaker cover...go to good sight thats a very help full website
  17. Hey thanks a lot for your help there. I guess i'll give it a try and see what happens, but i really hate to part out my LS, I guess this one wasnt meant to be, maybe the next one will. Thanks Steve
  18. Hey whats up guys? I have a quick question...How long would i have to wait to be able to give my car in as a trade in. I got it financed, so it would be paid off in a bout two years. Some dealers pay off or add to price whats left on my car. Im looking for a Tahoe or Yukon, I guess the previous owner of m lexus had it very poorly maintained. Anyways, i heard it was about six months, but someone else told me at least a year with good on-time payments. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  19. Thanks again for the helpfull info. What My dad did was just cancell out the heater for know. I do live in the San Fernando Valley(SO CAL), so i dont really have use of that heater. Im planning on changing the timeing belt soon and spark plugs w/wires. If i do take it to the mechanic i do trust the one i will take it to. Other than that it seems ok, except for the normal wear and tear. Also next will probably be my PS Pump, i think its also going downhill, but i wana catch it before it falls Thanks Guys, Steve
  20. Thanks a lot for the help big homies. Im gona take it to my dad's mechanic on Sat, i trust him we took a '94 Caddy and he works good with all others. Thanks again and i'll keep you guys posted. Thanks, Steve
  21. Thanks guys! I've had the car for about 2months this week. When i turn on the AC its smells humid in the mornings, no it hasnt rained, light drizzel, i live in Southern Cali. When i opened the car door on Sat morning i got the humid smell as well. My dad told me it might be the heater. How would i check if its leaking? The radiator level seems to be fine. Any other suggestions? Does the hose run under the carpet? Is there anything I can do in regards to the dealer? Thanks again guys! Steve
  22. On Saturday while i was installing my aftermarket radio, i noticed something strange. The Whole floor in the front passenger side was wet, i mean i would press on it and it was soaked!!!!!! What i am i supposed to do? Did they sell me a lemon ? Im still paying it($295/month) the dealer only gave me 30warranty, also my PS seems to be troubling. The water I think this might be a radiator hose or heater or something like that. What can i do? Any suggestions? How bad is my problem? Its a small dealler so I cant just walk in there and say the car doesnt work, what are my options since im still paying it. Thanks Guys, Steve
  23. One more thing, How much would the shipping be? I live in Southern California 91352. Thanks, Steve
  24. Do you have any pics of the emblems? $60 sounds pretty good! Are they in good condition? Send me pics if you have them. Thanks, Steve
