  1. Nice !Removed! *BLEEP*ing car dude, excuse me if im not supposed to cuss in the forum but enough is enough lol dang danny do you understand the term car enthusiast, its his money his car hes obviously proud of other wise we wouldnt have over half a dozen pictures up here why are you on that hater tip, its people like you that mess up a good thing but your not goin to mess it up for us, we are happy for you that you like honda great but frankly dont rain on my mans parade just because you have something against lexus or toyota or young people like these cars, eesscee400 said it best we are car guys do you think there is a reason why at a car show they dont just let one make in it would be kind of stupid if you had a car show like HIN or NOPI and only allow hondas no acuras no toyotas no audis no fords, im actually kind of offended by your close mindedness and ignorence and then tryin to push your opinion on some one else and hate on them... so in your eyes are blacks still supposed to be picking cotton and us spanish people making buritos driving low ridders and smoking weed?..... all i have to say is i have loved all my cars and i wanna send them a shout out lol 85 ford tempo, 92 ford ranger, 92 ford explorer, 96 mercury mystique, 95 ford taurus, 00 ford focus,06 huyndai elantra, 00 saturn L-series, and ofcourse my 92 lexus sc400 witch i just painted last night
  2. For the life of me i cant see them in lextasy but i understand lextech does repair and have color kits for the back lights and the needles allthough.... judging from what i been reading from the forums theres alot of mixed reviews about lextech and they dont stand behind their work but then again they are rather in expensive specially concidering how expensive it is for the lexus dealer to fix them yikes $$$ so i guess its a roll of the dice and crossing your fingers and if dont pan out i guess its an open and shut case of you get what you pay for allthough if you just want the bulbs swapped out factory im sure you can go to the lexus dealer purchase the bulbs for the needles and go on craigslist hire a laid of mechanic and let him do your dash these needles are even hard to come accross on ebay so id be weary of buyin a used unit they seem to go out about this time i have a 92 sc as well mine flash when they want too half the time they dont come on, good luck, on one last thought if the speedo dont work at all and you just want the stock look you can go on ebay and get off for about 100 buck i think these speedometers pretty addaptable 92-2000 so your milage reading might be off but youll have a working speedo and needles but id advice buying one sayin it came of a later model
  3. Well if you go on ebay and you see the clear tail lights marked 95-00, ill tell you thats miss leading because the tail lights fit directly into a 92 sc400 and the up grade is actually even easier and cheaper than goin from stock 92 tails to stock 95 tail lights, tail light housing alone for a 95 can run $65+ a piece and thats not including shipping or the wire harness, witch if i understand correctly the 92 uses 7 bulbs the 95 and up uses 6, i was pleased to discover that one with shipping i only payed 110 for a pair of tail lights not only did it come with just the housing it also included the wiring harness for the 95 sc400 (i was quoted 60 dollars with shipping for both wiring harnesses USED of a 95 granted the clear tails only use 4 bulbs not 7 or 6) the tail lights that i purchased included the orange 1156 turn signal bulb, you may say no big deal i say well saved me a trip to the parts store cause EVERY SINGLE BULB in my 92 sc was white, like i said the product description is misleading sayin it dosnt fit a 92sc heck i beg to differ i say it fits easier for conversion purposes, the harness is plug and play YES ILL SAY IT AGAIN the harness is plug and play you just plug up and you have power my car is a bad example cause my blinkers dont work and i didnt use my head and purchase the 194 bulbs ahead of time but i just had to plug it in and i imediately had brake lights and reverse lights my other lights didnt come on cause i didnt have the 194 bulb cause the 92 dont use a 194 bulb and my blinkers never worked when i got the car so i couldnt legitamately test that but i would assume it would have the fast blink problem witch im sure ill have once i fix my blinkers, i would have put up pictures but my baby aint in the picture taking mood yet she just got her front end fixxed today and she didnt want ya to see her primered lol but she will be a two tone silver and black when it warms up a bit http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...mageID=53684004
  4. Id say ebay is a good source some of ya might look at me like im crazy but if your worried about a burn out or something just buy i mass you can get like a set of 4 for under 12 dollars or hell just buy 50 lol for like 25 lol wont ever have to worry about bulbs ever again lol
  5. ok dont know if these sites just started selling these or if ya dont know how to google or yahoo search something but i just typed in load resitors and TADDA!! http://www.v-leds.com/Load-Resistors/c343525-1-2/ wouldnt you know it you can find allmost anything online the question now is witch is the right one theres one that is even specificly named LED BULB OUT WARNING FIX 25 OHM LOAD RESISTOR KIT at first glance with out being a mechanic id say that sounds like a good shot in the dark
  6. lol are you feeling guilty cause the guy is giving away a good car lol thats a no brainer even if i could find something like that to just sit in my drive way till it hit classic id be happy with that lol hell when i bought mine it had allmost none of those things you mentioned lol for one the front end had to be given a face lift cause it didnt exactly have a fender bender try a chasis bender lol no radio not even 4 matching rims one was some strange after market rim and the electrical system seemed to suffer from rust but for 900 bucks and 1500 dollars worth of wrench time its restored back to glory lol youd never know and blue book sits at over 5500, to be honest i wouldnt give up 5500 just like that but to know i put it back together my self gives me some pride about my car and guess what if i ever wanted to sell id see my money back lol but that day wont come no time soon lol
  7. Hmmmmm in my opinion the 3000 looks flashy it makes alot to do over nothing if you ask me im not goin to sit here and act like i hate the body style and the sc300 dosnt really school it performance wise and i wont deny prior to buying my sc400 i did look at a 3000gt, but to be honest the SC won me over Lexus has my respect alot more than mitsubishi i like the feel of my seats when i sit in my lexus i like the look i get from guys or girls when i ride by in my lexus, i think lexus has a good reputation to be the respectable blue collar luxury car a mitsubishi just says YAY i can finally buy something other than a compact domestic car but once they age that special feeling is gone but weather your in a 91 Lexus or a 2010 lexus it still makes you smile on the inside and when you maintain it well it shows and it will raise an eye brow, besides the 3000gt what other pre 1995 mitsubishis can i remember that will make one person take that one step back and say nice restoration with the exception of the 3000gt but then again the 3000gt has never really been in high demand even after 4 fast and furious movies the 3000gt got what 2 minutes in that prelude to the 2fast 2furious and a few years later and a couple car shows later you still see more lancers and eclipses than anything, heck ill take the eclipse with the turbo upgrade before a 3000gt, so my choice would have to be one ya left out lol my sc400
  8. My advice id try Craigslist i know your probably raising an eye brow and goin WHAT!?!? but with unemployement being at a record high and you living in such a big area id go to craigslist.org under the auto services section and post an add looking for some one experienced with lexus cars chances are your goin to get an ASE certified mechanic that was laid of from a big dealer ship that is looking for work and with do the work for fraction of the cost the lexus dealer will charge you, i dont know about ft lauderdale but in atlanta we have tons of mobile mechanics that come to you and remarkably they are less expensive than jumping in the car and driving down to a shop and waitting for hours and being imobilized and then gettin hit with a huge bill, if your looking for parts as well a safe bet is also craigslist you will find some good parts cars instead takin a chance on odering a part the dealer "has a feeling is the problem" only to find out not only does it not fix the problem and they have to hit you up for labor cost but you have to order another new shiny expensive part and if it dosnt fix it guess what roll again
  9. Id have to say no, no their not compatible because cars manufactored for japan are in no way shape or form like cars manufactured for euro markets or australian markets or the US marker what is street legal in japan isnt street legal here what is street legal here isnt street legal in japan as a matter a fact even california has its own standards for new cars vs cars sold in all other 50 states they are required to produce less emissions, just because they look the same on the out side dosnt mean they are identical twins on the inside for one the first gen AMERICAN sc arrived in the US in 91 while the japanesse maket had soarers in the early 80s, i guarantee mechanically they are nothing alike cosmeticly they share traits, mechanicly nothing is goin to be plug and play some place some where your goin to have to make the judgement call on how your goin to make it work with out blowing any else up on your car, its either gona cost you time to figure it out or you can pull your wallet out and have some one help you do the mods
  10. ok i bought a 92 lexus sc400 i bought it with front end damage the headlights got crushed in wreck so the wire got exposed to the weather even though it hadnt rained much at all in GA when i bought it, brake lights seem to work fine, when i drove the car to the garage i noticed the high beam light worked its the only light it had left on it but once i sat it in the garage in doors for about two i noticed the bulb high beam no longer worked and the blinkers well they never did and i figured well maybe its just my car maybe its something a tech can spot and fix easyly but after reading through these forums i see its not un heard of and i read through some of the forums and i didnt see any clear answers but similar issues i was wonderin if any one out there had this issue and knew how to work it out and if it can be addressed at home first or would i have to just take it to the lexus dealer and if so do they sell anything to remedy this??..... also my second part of the question is when doing an upgrade from a 92 to 95 on the rear end lights i see some people are misinformed saying a 92 carries the same harness as a 95 not so a 92 has an 1157 tail light bulb vs the 95 a 168 bulb, the 92 carries an 1157 brake light bulb the 95 carries an 1156.... so my question is i seen parts store like summit racing that sell just the bulb and harness for the 168 bulb would it be a good idea to to just chop of the old bulb and rewire the new wire and socket in???? im guessin an 1156 an 1157 are identical in size so that would sort it self out.... and if not where would i find a good parts place to get replacement harnesses for tail light..... and if any one here has actually done the conversion if its not to much to ask could you tell me a few good details as to what to do ect what wire to what wire ect... not just it can be done... end of story....... also another good question i think well we all know some cars carry same parts believe it or not specially when it comes to lights do ya think it would be safe bet if i just bought sockets and wires i need of another parts car not particularly a lexus if its the same part :: example my saturn and my lexus both use the same head lights and high beams hence same socket probably similar wire, rather than hunt down another sc you think its a safe bet just to look for the part instead of the actual car??? and one last question i promisse lol are wirering harness problems as comon in 95 and up models dosnt appear that way but just curious
