What a pain that was to do, but that was definetely the problem. Replaced it and now the car runs like new. The issue is that my wife drives the car until dead empty every week so every piece of garbage at the bottom of the tank gets sucked through the filter. Thanks for all the input.

1998 LS400 w/ 86,500 miles. The car occassionally sputters pretty bad when accelerating from low speeds. I suspect I need to replace the fuel filter (hopefully not a pump). I have typically had this done by the dealership during normal maintenance checks. Can anyone give me the location and any tips on how to change? Thanks

Yes, I have done tons of searches from every online dealer imagineable. The big problem is I want to limit the wheel size to 17". They all come up with tons that "show" a match but when I call to inquire I am told the wheel really does not fit. The exception is tirerack and BigWheels.net. The best results I saw was with BigWheels.net. They had 36 matches that actually fit. But none that were very desirable except maybe the TSW Snetterton. I just am not sure how these might look. So right now I am trying to decide betweent the TSW Snetterton (silver) or the Enkei EKM3 (silver). I really wish the Drag DR19 would fit, but alas it was not meant to be. My car is also silver - anyone have any input or pics of these on a LS400.

Well, I have contacted three different vendors and they all told me the same thing - these wheels will not fit. Wheelfire.com CustomWheelsDirect.com NTB.com None of them will honor a nonfit return.

I have a 1998 LS400. It is completely stock. My wheels have some pretty bad corrision and I would like to replace them with somthing a bit more sporty. Unfortunately I cannot find any reasonable aftermarket wheel that seems to fit. I do not want to go any larger than 17". I like the look of the Ruff R350 and the Drag R19 but neither fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I plan to change the rotors on my 98 LS400 this weekend. I have searched for articles, but have only found articles for 1990-1994 LS400. Would the steps be the same? Is there an article for my model year anywhere? Thanks for the help.

Are there any differences for changing the rotors on a 90-94 LS than on a 98 LS? I need to change the rotors but I can not find decent instructions. Thanks

Hi Bill, I ran across your post on the Motorola IHF1000 completely by accident (I was looking for a cigarette lighter repair). Anyways, I am in the middle of installing the Motorola IHF1000 and could use a little help. The first is simple - What do I need to purchase in order to wire in the ignition and battery wires to the fuse box? Secondly, how do I find the correct wire to splice into in order to get the mute feature to work? I do not have any phone installed in the car using factory wiring. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. As you can tell wiring is not my specialty. Thanks, Billy

I installed a new radio today in my 1998 LS400 today. The bad news is that I broke the R/H vent on the center console. The little plastic piece that controls the verticle motion broke. Is there anywhere I can purchase just the R/H vent? Lexus wants $484 for the center unit. Any ideas? THANKS

I just purchased a 1998 LS400 and I would like to add a CD Changer to the car. Mine never came with a CD Changer, but it does have the cd button. Where can I find the changer, wiring, and faceplate needed to add a cd changer to my car? THANKS
