  1. What is the proper way to check the AFT fluid level? Is it more accurate to check it when its hot or cold?
  2. There is probably enough play in the line that you could use a tube cutter and remove the damaged end, then use a flaring tool to reflare the end of the newly cut tube.
  3. '96 Lexus ES, $5300 with 86,600 miles. Excellent condition inside and out. Question though..... The transmission fluid has never been changed and still has the original timing belt. Looking at the maintenance schedule its telling me just to inspect the transmission fluid level, nothing about flushing it. Talked to my local mechanic and he's telling me the same thing. Anyone have a thought on this??? What should I do about the timing belt. The car runs perfect. Thanks, Greg
