  1. Dittos here for taking my Lexus to the local Toyota dealer. I bought a CPO'd 2008 GS 350 in July. Recently, the "oil maint reqd" light came on. There's a Lexus dealer about 30 mins from my office but not on the way home, but there's a Toyota dealer about 20 mins from my office and on the way home. Plus, the Lexus dealer's service department is not open in the evenings, while the Toyota dealer's service department is open until 9pm. I went to the Toyota dealer's website and was able to make an on-line appointment for the same evening. When I got there, I initially had some qualms about Toyota service techs being able to work on a Lexus, but asked the service tech if they had the parts and know-how for my car. "No problem" he said. The dealership had a clean, comfortable waiting room, not ultra chic like the Lexus dealership, but they had free Starbucks coffee and free wifi. I'll take the trade off. :D The bottom line is I was out of there in just under an hour and paid $32 for the oil change. I think I would go to the Lexus dealer for any "serious" work, but I plan on going back to the Toyota dealer for oil changes and other routine things. One chuckle: The porter (obviously) spends his days shuttling Toyotas and Scions. When he brought my GS 350 around, he had a big grin on his face and said "that is a nice car".
  2. I'd say you were in the ballpark. I bought mine (CPO'd fully loaded '08 GS350 appx 27k miles) for about $38k last July. It's only been a few months, but I've been very happy with it. It drives like a dream and has more than enough get up and go for the few times I've needed it.
  3. Hi all, This is my first initiated topic. I scanned the guidelines for new members and initiating threads, but if I missed something, please don't hestiate to correct me. The issue I'm having is synching, or uploading, my cellphone's address book to my car. My car is a 2008 GS350. According to the Lexus site (here), my phone (a Samsung sway) should be able to tranfer multiple numbers to the handsfree system. I have gone through the steps in the owner's manual. When I start the transfer process, the systems indicates that it's doing the transfer but it never completes it. I have let it go for as long as an hour and the transfer is never complete. I don't have a huge address book in my cellphone (less than 100 contacts), so I think an hour is more than enough time to fully synch. So, I'm scratching my head here and wondering if anyone has any tips or guidance. Thanks in advance. Rich
  4. Good to hear. I was going to suggest trying it one more time, but didn't want to sound like a jerk. I left work again today and put on the belt after driving out of the parking garage, but before pulling onto the street. I didn't even notice until I went to put it on that the buzzer wasn't going off. By tomorrow, I probably won't give it a second thought. Nevertheless, after two months, I am still seriously enjoying my Lexus. I hope it takes quite a while before driving it becomes "business as usual". :P
  5. Congratulations, great looking vehicle. I also like your plate -- GO BEARS!
  6. I believe this is incorrect. I recently bought a CPO'd 2008 GS350 with appx 20k miles. My understanding was that it carries a CPO warranty of 3 years or 100k miles, whichever comes first (see Lexus CPO webpage here: http://www.lexus.com/cpo/overview/warranty.html).
  7. Thanks much for this. While I always wear my seat belt, I often don't put it on immediately but wait until I'm *settled in*. That buzzer was extremely annoying. Turning it off has actually increased my enjoyment of the car.
