  1. I have a 2009 LS460 AWD. It has the eight speed transmission. When the car is coasting, around 38-40 mph the transmission down shifts, enough to feel it, and resumes coasting at about 20 mph. Usually it slows down so much you have to give it some gas. Is this normal for the eight speed transmission? I am use to a 2009 GS350, and a 2004 LS430, which are booth six speed. Dealer checked for codes and found none.
  2. I have a 2009 LS460, and my wife has a 2009 GS350. So I am concerned about runaway Lexus cars. I recently read an article in the Wall Street Journal dated February 8, 2010 on page B2 that stated the following: "Toyota said the brake override system would be standard equipment throughout the Toyota and Lexus lines starting with January 2010 production of the ES350 and Camary." This fix, according to the full article, would stop sudden acceleration if the brakes are engaged and the accelerator are engaged at the same time. Has anyone heard of a potential recall? It seems Toyato has known about this problem for some time. Gerry
