I know this was covered before and if someone could post a link it would be awesome but this is what I am up against. The console lights, mainly radio and gear shift lights are out in My GF's 1999 rx300 awd. I remember reading that it has something to do with the cigarette lighter switch or a relay in the sliding console. Her rear lighter has always had issues and that could be the root of the problem. We just have no $$ to pay a dealer to troubleshoot, but hopefully someone had this same problem and fixed it or can point me in the right direction. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Our dog decided to chew up and destroy our center seat belt on our RX the other day and we were able to find a replacement. But I am wondering if there is a way to replace it without taking out the back seats. Also, do I even need to take out the back seats to do it? It looks like one of the straps runs throught the floor board. JUst looking for a little help. Thanks

My question is though, Have the people who have used after market converters used the ones with a wire that goes straight to the battery or the one without? they make both that are circuit protected I just need to know what is better since the factory one isnt battery powered.

I need to get a tail light converter for my 99 RX300 that has the tow package. As far as I can tell it does not have a seperate battery wire, so can I just use a Modulite or Curt that does not have the battery wire? What have you guys run? Also I can not find the tow fuse in the fuse box under the hood like other posts have said that is where it was located. Is the 99 tow fuse in a different location? Thanks

I am getting ready to install a new Tail light module for towing on our 99 RX since the stock one is blown and I am trying to find out if it is a 2 or 3 wire system. If anyone had done this I would appreciate the input on the installation. Also, does the stock tow wiring harness (plug going into the module) have a dedicated wire going to the battery or will i have to add one?

I tried to PM you, but it wont let me. How hard was it to do the wiring? Did you have to run a ground and power wire, or were you able to just splice into the harness? I am fairly good at wiring things up, but just don't want to fry anything. Also do you know if the Lexus runs off a 2 or 3 wire system? I'll probly head to wal mart later and try and find the one you got. Thanks

I just joined this forum and did do a long search, but could not find an answer. I have a 99 lexus RX300 with the tow package and the 15 Amp tail light converter box is bad. Power to it, but nothing comming out the other side. I have put in the part number I found on here #08921-48070 and 08921-48051 and have found a few options, but no pics. What I am wondering is has anyone bought an aftermarket box and just spliced it in? I know there are a few companies that make them, but alot of the boxes you have to run a battery wire to the battery and a new ground. Does the stock box have a power wire and ground wire going into the harness and if so what are the colors? I need to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks
