usfstud27 Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I have a 1994 GS300 and there is a tapping sound coming from the top of the engine near the cams. I have narrowed it down to the valves and was wondering if anyone can tell me what the exact problem might be. The car runs fine except for making a loud tapping sound. I figure it must be a bad cam follower but would like to hear the opinion of a professional or DIY veteran. Thanks for the feedback...
bucwhokey Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 on old cars you sometimes have readjust your valve spring thingy forgot what it's called. You just take the valve cover off and adjust it. But you need a special tool to adjust it.
Mike Eder Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 how many miles are on it? It may need a valve adjustment, and yes you need several special tools to do one.
