  2. I have a 2013 ES 350. If I let the car sit for over a week the car won't start. Easy to start with a boost charger. Battery tests good. I read in the manual about turning off the receiver module by using the Park on/off button. This will turn off the draw of the receiver if you are not going to drive extended periods. Any comments from the group? Bill in Denver

  4. I have the same issue of CR and was surprised to see that. You may want to call service advisers at one or more dealerships to inquire about this issue. I don't recall seeing any other comments about this year Lexus model NX300h. Also try this forum's search function if you haven't already.

  6. I am brand new to the forum so please bear with me . . . In Feb 2024 I purchased a low miileage 2021 NX300h. Shortly thereafter the April 2024 the annual auto guide issue of Consumer Reports magazine was published. On page 92 they give the 2021 NX300h double red down arrows for Major Engine problems which is disconcerting to say the least. Has anyone experienced major engine problems on this fairly new model? Thank you.
  7. Hello, I have a new to me 02 rx300 with 170k on the clock. Im trying to figure out some issues Ive discovered and haven't found anything conclusive enough to fix. Thus, Im reaching out for help, all input would be appreciated. The issue is partially intermittent. On idle when car is in gear and rpm is low ~600 there is a dead miss on 1-2 cylinders. It clears up as the rpm is increased. Additionally, the car suffers a low vacuum condition on occasion (largely after rough idling for awhile, or driving with the engine at low rpm). This loss of vacuum impacts the brake booster, which I find unacceptable and have been driving my other car (a 90' v12 jaguar xjs) instead. Not terribly practical. I have generally looked for vacuum leaks without success. Have tried using smoke and noticed a flow of smoke to the booster area but haven't seen anything conclusive. Im also not convinced its a vacuum leak. It seems to happen intermittently, and like a switch if its good the car operates properly and other times, its rough and I ended up easing the car home without sufficient boosted brakes. Additionally, just by feel sometimes it seems the valve timing is not quite where it should be. Which has me suspecting the vvt system, which could potentially impact intake vacuum. I dont have all the codes with me but they were just general misses not cylinder specific. I know almost nothing about the maintenance of the car, someones been here before. It has new plugs (didnt actually check back cylinders) and doesn't seem like an ignition issue. One of the screws on a vvt solenoid was replaced but the solenoid is original. I know bench testing solenoids isnt always an accurate way of determining if they are ok. Im tired of having this issue and im ready to dig in to fix it. Let me know what things I should look at or address, Id love to hear your input. Im leaning towards replacing vvt solenoids, filters, and cleaning the iac valve (should I consider replacing the actual actuator?) Best,
  8. 2003 ls 430 135,000miles. The touch screen just started working sporadically
  9. Have a 2004 ES 330 that is having, what sounds like, a similar problem. The battery and starter seem to work fine. It will start and work great, but every once-in-a-while, it doesn't start. All the dash lights come on but the starter won't kick in. This seems to happen most often just after filling the gas tank. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It has been to the mechanic three or four times for this, but it still happens. The first time, we just tightened the gas cap and that worked. I purchased a new Toyota gas cap about 18 months ago because of an evap system code, but we still continue to have this issue.
  10. There is no alternator in a PHEV. It is a hybrid, where you can charge the extra large high voltage battery home via a plug-in. Hybrid cars have no alternator. Like I mentioned before - the 12V battery starts the computer that then power up the big battery. The car can run on the big battery till there is too little power left in that and then the vary ordinary engine running on gasoline starts to charge the battery and power the wheels. Call your Lexus where you bought the car and tell them to help. A new car should have some service free of charge.
  11. Thanks. This a PHEV so the issues are different. The 12 V battery ran down and there can only be two causes: The alternator is not working The battery is bad. Since it has an electric engine and I rarely run it in HV mode I am interested in knowing if the alternator works with the EV engine. If not, it is obvious I will have to run the car regularly on HV mode in order to keep the battery charged. I drive the car regularly but rarely use the HV mode since my distances are short.
  12. A 3 month old car is warranted. Suppose you mean NX and not Nh. 12V battery powers up the computer that power up the high voltage battery that start everything else. 12V battery is rather tiny and if car stand still a long time, the battery lose power. The little CT we have is a 2017 model and 12V battery is still just fine. Charge the 12V battery and it should start everything else again. But do mention it to the dealer as a brand new car should have a brand new battery that keeps charge well.
  13. My 12 v battery on my NH450 plus died the other day. The car was three months old and had less than 1000 miles.I could not unlock or start the car. Until this happened, I was not even aware that there was a 12 V battery which apparently powers all the ancillary electronics. I simply assumed that the main battery powered everything. I don't drive far and rarely use HV mode but I do drive regularly (at least 2 times per week). I am wondering if this happened because the alternator only runs on HV mode. I suspect that the designers did this to increase the battery range and the car needs to be driven in HV mode at regular intervals in order to prevent this problem. Anyone have any information on this? Does anyone know if the driving in HV mode is necessary to run the alternator and thus keep the battery from running down? It seems that if operating on HV mode at regular intervals is necessary, owners of these vehicles should be warned and advised to drive on HV mode at regular intervals.

  15. I'm confused. Where did you end up routing the hose to?
  16. I had the same problem with AFS on my 2007 ES350 - could not locate the switch (it's referenced in my manual, but picture was not very helpful). Instruction to locate switch was perfect. Worked like a champ. Thanks! Victor
  17. the picture shows hole's 3 and 5 not 3 and 4.
  18. My ‘06 470 developed a TOTAL UP rear end with a very bumpy ride. I followed the advice from the Forum and YouTube. I replaced the TWO ride SENSORS, L and R. I purchased the parts on Amazon, $109. 1. Raised rear end onto jack stands. 2. Removed wheels L&R. 3. SLOWLY removed each SENSOR. (I soaked the mounting hex bolts with JB Blaster) 4. Replaced SENSORS in reverse order. 5. Once the wheels were back on the ground I disconnected the battery for 10mins. 6. Once electric power was restored the car VERY SLOWLY returned to NORMAL stance. 7. I spent 8hrs total. I’m NOT a highly skilled mechanic, with a very basic tool box.
  19. In your pic you show in the OBD PORT the clip in the 3rd top hole and the clip in the 4th hole (is this correct)? It’s not worked for me? Please let me know as it’s annoying with the VSC light on all the time. thanks, ken
  20. Were you able to figure out the issue? I’m having the same problem:(
  21. I have the opportunity to purchase an '06 Lexus LX470 (170k Miles) in Cypress Pearl - Ivory interior in great condition. All necessary repairs and maintenance were performed this month. 23. I didn’t do anything to resolve the “problem”. My Celsior doesn’t need that relay. My fan is hydraulic and I don’t have heated seats.
  24. Someone mentioned a Washer fuse. I couldn't find one marked washer. Can you tell me where it is located? Thanks CaptainSal
  25. How can I disconnect so it won't try to come up lexus sc430? Is there a fuse?
  26. What did you do to solve the problem? It might help someone else in the future.
