malu_joseph Posted April 30, 2003 Share Posted April 30, 2003 When I hit my brakes there is an intermittant rubbing noise. I took it to a mechanic and they said that the brakes were fine. AWJ Posted April 30, 2003 Share Posted April 30, 2003 You may have a warped rotor. I'd get another opinion. The brake pads should have more than 3mm of material on them - if not they should be replaced and the rotors should be inspected. They may be turned - the specifications are on the rotor itself. Ric1001 Posted December 13, 2004 Share Posted December 13, 2004 I had the same problem with my 92 SC400 and it was a frozen caliper. If the mechanic did not remove the rotor, open the caliper fluid petcock and squeeze the caliper piston he would never catch the problem.
