I just bought a 94 sc300 and the sub doesn't work. I took the head unit out to make sure there were no loose wires but no luck. All the headers are connected into the amp under the cd changer correctly.

Any suggestions??

Get another sub. There is a free air replacement that escapes my mind at this time. Maybe someone else knows.

I would check and make sure the wires to the sub are hooked up. If they are take the sub out and it them bench tested at your local audio place.

I have a 92 SC400 which had a similar problem with my Panasonic system except my sub was distorted. The problem was a bad sub woofer amplifier which is located next to the sub woofer under the speaker deck cover. In order to get to it you have to remove the entire deck cover. I purchased a used amplifier from a salvage yard. I located the salvage yard through PARTS-COM on the internet.

I've heard two different things it could be for the sub being distorted. At first I thought it was the sub, but I've also been told that the foam surround has deteriorated or the amp is blown. Which one is the more likely or has anyone had this problem and had a successful fix? Thanks
