sgriffith Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Hello all, I posted something a week or so back about an issue I am having with a strut mount on my 99 RX300. I took it in initially under warranty about 2 years ago and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I just didn't really worry about it (even though it was still making some rattling noises on bumpy roads) and I know that I should have..but I just didn't. I went in about a month ago (to another Lexus dealership) to get a few maintenance things done - they were quite a bit less at this dealership than the other - and I had them diagnose the problem for me. They told me that I needed to replace the strut mount. Well, while I should have taken it back to the dealership while under warranty to get them to look at it again, I didn't. I have called them to ask them if they would fix it as an "in-warranty" repair, as I brought it in when the vehicle was under warranty and it didn't get fixed. They say it is a no go, but have offered to fix it at a discount...a whole $70.00 less than the quote. My question is this...is there someone else, other than those at the dealership, that I can call to maybe get them to do this? The main reason they are stating that they can't is becaue I haven't come in to their dealership to service my vehicle...as I do the vast majority of it myself. Is there some other person that I should speak to? My service advisor said that he spoke to the service manager at the dealership, but that is all that he indicated. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

sgriffith Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Just to let everyone know, I found a phone number to call...along with those of most other vehicle manufacturers....here is a link to it if you ever need it: http://www.101-creditreport.com/contact_auto_mfg.htm I haven't even gotten off the phone yet, but will update this posting when I find something out. Thanks wwest for the e-mail address...that was a great place to start.
