onlybyhisgrace
Hi, The car I am looking at buying is dark blue, the owner called it Aztec blue. I am wondering if this is a factory color since I have never seen it before? Plus it has gray leather interior. Also, the stock wheels have been chromed and I was wondering what that might do to the value of the car? Thanks for your help, Brad
dro
Inside the drivers door jam, there is a label. Under the barcode you will find the the following: cr/tr : xxx/zzz the xxx represents the color code of your car. You can go to your dealer and they will tell you what the name is. If your car has had a color change, this code will do you no good, but any competent bodyshop can tell you if the car has been completely repainted with a different color/shade. Regarding the chromed wheels: They were optional equipment. Hope this helps
bean_8044
For that year there was a Cobalt Blue Metallic and a Dark Blue Gray Metallic. Not sure where the Aztec Blue came from, but it may be the Cobalt. Thats as per Shwerin-Williams paint code finder
onlybyhisgrace
Thanks for the replies, I hope we can agree on a price. I'll have to check the door jam for the color code. Thanks, Brad
mktbully
8J5 should be the paint code. i thought it was called Midnight Indigo Pearl Clearcoat
bean_8044
It is completely possible that Sherwin-Williams has the paint listed as a different title. It is their paint after all although its supposed to be color matched
93LSOwner
Give the Lexus dealers the VIN # and they will tell you whats the original color of the car. I think you can just call them and get the answer.
