Dash air bag light stays on

Dashboard airbag light stays on even after reset within few miles, no accident to prompt this. Ideas? Other than bulb removal

I have read that a scan tool that covers airbag codes is needed. Is that what you used?

From what I understand, yes. Per my mechanic

What code was uncovered when using the scan tool? I would think that there would be an airbag code.
