1993 sc400 faster then a 1995?

Hey guys, I have a question. Me and my friend both have sc400’s (his is the 95 mine is the 93) and we did a couple of digs and mine came out on top both times. He had then said something about the earlier years engines being built different and having stronger, possibly forged pistons. I was wondering if anybody knew about this.

The specs are very similar (same horsepower and torque) but his 95 is about 80 lbs lighter than yours. 

As far as forged pistons, some thought all the Sc 400s had them but the last post in this thread mentions doubt:
