annbrogan
I have been told that the noise coming from the front of the car is to let the driver know when you are in reverse. It is a safety feature because the car is so quiet. I hear the noise once every 25 times I drive the car. Also, could Lexus have come up with a less obnoxious sound? I have a 2020 Lexus 250h Any thoughts?
Lexus Owners Club
Sounds plausible I guess
gentrion
Could be an issue with the brakes. It's one of the causes of why a car is making noise when reversing.

dcfish
Is this confirmed by a Lexus dealer ? Find the truth first. Thanks

Bykfixer
It's a feature to alert blind or sight impaired folks that a vehicle is moving possibly toward them similar to a back up alarm of a dump truck on a contruction site. It's something started in Japan in 2010 and the US in 2011. There will likely come a day where electric vehicles are required to produce a certain amount of noise to notify pedestrians with vision issues of automobiles approaching them. ianspeed321
Loud noise when reversing is also an indication of worn out brake pads.
