wuzzy1 Posted January 25, 2021 Share Posted January 25, 2021 After driving my car for 15 years I have finally found the "SHIFT LOCK OVERRIDE" button just to the left of the shifter. As I press the button, the shifter easily goes into gear. Can somebody tell me what the fix is so that I do not have to press the "SHIFT LOCK OVERRIDE" button every time I shift into gear. THANK YOU! 1990LS400 Posted January 25, 2021 Share Posted January 25, 2021 The most common cause of this problem is failure of the stop light switch on the brake pedal arm. Are your brake lights lighting up when you press the brake pedal? OEM brake light switches sell for gen 1 LS400 sell for around $75 but I see aftermarket ones online for far less.
