George C Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 I've been told it will cost over $2000 because I need to pull the engine to reseal the oil pan gasket. Is this true?
mikaelse Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 In this thread this is discussed https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/713614-oil-pan-gasket-and-removal.html Seems to be possible without lifting the engine a bit out of the way but very fiddly because of a tight fit. Seems excessive with 2000$ . Surely can not take a good mechanic that long...
JustSomeRandomGuy Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 I replaced my lower pan gasket in an afternoon in my garage but my upper one was leaking a bit. I've used AT-205 oil seal reviver in my engine for two oil changes and it stopped leaking. I recommend trying it before spending that kind of money. https://www.amazon.com/ATP-AT-205-Re-Seal-Stops-Bottle/dp/B000NVW1LM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=O5E3NYLWQXW3&keywords=at+oil+seal+reviver&qid=1667159380&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjQ0IiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=at+oil+seal+reviver%2Caps%2C791&sr=8-3
