Doyle2uzfe
Hi - New to the forum today, thanks to anyone that has viable input. I put a deposit $300 deposit down on an original owner 2005 LX470 vehicle. Original owner has maintenance history and has been maintained per schedule...no issues other than he pulled the fuse on the sunroof because he had an issue a while back when it wasn't tracking properly. Anyway, my major concern is that it spent 10 years in Connecticut. Raised in Cleveland, now in FL, I know they salt the hell out of those roads. I inspected underneath and found the obvious; surface rust....No body rust or penetrations anywhere. Should I be concerned? In order to remedy that surface rust, what is the most logical course of action? Thanks!
Eric Rogers
You probably bought the truck a long time ago by now but if it as you described, absolutely buy it. You can have the under carriage cleaned & blasted and then sprayed with a rust prevention paint/coating all for less than a grand.
