65beto Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I know this is normal for the first 5 to 10 min when car is first started in the colder mornings, but after complete antifreeze flush, now it takes more than 15 min before Idle is back to normal. This is kind of dangerous as I have to apply the brakes harder than usual at red lites to prevent the car from rolling forward.I check antifreeze levels and bled the system a few times to get rid of any air, but still takes too long to idle to get back to normal until fully warm.Car has 57K and year 2007 250 AWDAny input is greatly appreciated .Lou
TrevC Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Hi...and welcome to the Forum It would sound that there is still some air left in the cooling system. The best way to track this down is to go round with a laser temperature gun and measure at points all around the system. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
65beto Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Thank you Trevor. I will report back asap. Lou.
