Sheila D Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I have 2006 Lexus rx 400h with 138,000 miles on it. I recently changed the rear brake pad on it and afterwards when I started the car, the "Check VSC System" light came on. Then the ABS/Brake/Slip Control lights came on. When I changed the rear break pad, I disconnect the negative battery for safety purposes, is that why the lights came on. I drove the car for awhile already and the lights are still there. Does anyone know how to reset this problem?
TrevC Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Hi Sheila....welcome to the Club! I would suggest that an ABS sensor or wiring is either disconnected or damaged. Sometimes the caliper is wound in without first cracking loose the bleed nipple and/or not using a hose clamp to avoid pressure being transferred back through the hydraulic system when winding back the caliper piston. This can damage the ABS modulator unit. Let us know how you get on with it Regards Trevor
