Wheel Bearings

Recommended Posts

I have not heard anyone talk about wheel bearings. I have a '97 SC300. Do the front wheel bearings require any routine maintenence? When I drove GM RWD cars I know that I had to repack the bearings every so often (at least at each brake job). Does the same hold true with the Lexus products, or are they different?

Thanks

Tom

I replaced my rear wheel bearings. I think the previous owner got hit in the back, so it might have hit the rear hub and increased the bearing gap. Otherwise, you won't need to repack the bearings. When you start hearing the bearings fail, you just have to replace it - the rear bearings and races cost about $200-300 parts.
