Spacers//adapters for Lexus gs300

So I've been thinking about getting spacers for my Lexus gs300. I found sum rims that I rlly want but they r 5x120 and my Lexus is 5x114. And I was planning to buy adapters to convert it to 5x120. I just wanna know how good adapters hold up, how safe is it, and what not bc heard that they aren't too safe but also heard many ppl use adapters. So let me know thanks!
