99 GS400 test drive

any day now i will puchase a 1999 gs 400 ive test drove the car once. the ride was smooth but when i turn a corner from stop sign i pinned the pedal to the floor. the rpms went to 3K and the trans shifted. that came accross as odd. is that normal?

If you put your foot down and pin the gas then it will shift down is that what you mean?

no i mean from a stopi pushed the gas pedal to the floor and it shifted at 3k

Pedal to the floor it should definitely use more of the rev range than just 3000 rpm
