Evaporater ?

Finding white dust on the dashboard RX350 2007 model year.

Lexus service staff suggest it is the evaporator , which would require a lot of work, to remove the entire dashboard and repair/replace evaporator.

I never heard before of "evaporator" in any vehicle, so this was a big surprise to me.

Any experience with this problem , please comment if you have info ?

I had the same problem on 2007 RX350 only 55,000 mile. I would trade it in as it can happen again within 2 years after an expensive repair. Let the dealer have the problem.

there was a recall/tsb on that problem, but not sure which years it covered and if it is still going.

every car with air conditioning has an evaporator. It is the A/C version of a heater core.
