Of course, I love almost everything about my car, but it Is the little attention to detail that I appreciate about a Lexus. I love the fact that a few seconds after you use the windshield washers, they swipe one more time to catch any drips that's might have run back down the glass. I know that seems a little silly, but it is a great idea and I've never seen any other car do it.

Yes I really like the small details standard and common in premium cars including Lexus, MB, BMW, Jag. Such as fully lined trunks, subwoofers, power seats (both driver and passenger) to name a few.

Anybody else have little things in their Lexus that they personally appreciate?...

Aw Lex.....I'm sorry. Your car would make an awesome reindeer.

Those have actually been on my S2000, G37, 370Z and now my Lexus. I love them.

Colorful grill emblem, works on any brand of car. Around here the cars often have dual 49'ers flags.

I can't stand those things. They make too much noise. The antlers are much more aerodynamic.

The very LAST thing, any guy wants to be seen doing is driving around in a car with antlers and a nose. Get to an ABC store instead. It is Christmas Spirit after all.

no doubt. My wife wanted them for her car and even that I rejected the idea. Like the red bows they put on Mercedes, totally rejected.

I keep my goofy additions to my car rather subtle.

For example, attached is a stuffed doggie in back window (the 50% tint tones it down a bit too) of my Honda Civic GX.

Automatic headlights and keyless start are certainly features typical of well-equipped Lexus that I can appreciate everyday.

I agree. I will never own a car again that has a real key. Except maybe a '68 Camaro!

Ventilated (cooled/heated) seats in Lexus. My friends with common Mercedes and Audii sedans always mention the Lexus seats with that feature for some reason.

The day after I picked my car up ath the dealership, I took it in and had the windows tinted. Even had them do a limo tint on the sunroof. Of course I ordered Weather Tech floor liners. Then completely detailed and applied multiple coats of Collinite #845 Insulator Wax. I really like the car and all the details. The wheels are amazing. There are still buttons I haven't figured out, I have figured out the accelerator. I'm very lucky I didn't get the 350. With nice roads and excessive pedal work I was able to drop my fuel economy to 19.7 mpg. First time under 20.

Antlers on a Lexus? Totally unapproved by guy code. If you want to impress someone over the holidays, turn off the traction control and leave a few 32nds of stripe on their street. That way they will have a lasting memory.

vb - Sounds very nice, post up a pic with new tint and wax job. Great idea on roof tint. What tint brand / % did you go with on side/rear windows?

Note: IS350/IS250 fuel economy differences are small in real world and per EPA estimates. For example the worst tank I had in 6 years with a 3.5L is low 19, (immediately after having FSport exhaust installed, lol). Most likely 2.5L will be replaced or supplemented by Lexus with new turbo 4, and EPA ratings will be signicantly different than both V6's.

For what I use the car, the engine is fine. If I had a faster car, I would be encouraged to do things I shouldn't. A turbo would be a nice edition though. I only drive the car for fun and road trips in the summer. When I go up north in the winter, I take the silverado with snow tires because I couldn't imagine getting salt on my car. If you have a black car, you can be pretty sure it will be white after a good salt run. The Lexus, stays in the garage.

I think I finally have the "hot rod momma" out of my system. I told y'all about the time I did the burn out in my Z28 and the cop got on my tail. Just isn't worth it. In Shelby County, drag racing on the street is jail time. I don't need the temptation.

I hate to tell you what I would really like to put on my car.....the big eyelashes!!! They would be so cute on Lexie. I promise I won't though. That would probably get me banished from the club permanently. Sometimes it is fun to be a girl.

My favorite option I ever had in a car was my music box on my G37. All I had to do was insert a CD and push record and in about 5 minutes it would be on the hard drive. That was awesome.

Oh I don't mind at all when girls put things like that on their cars. Very cute as long as I don't have to drive around embellished as such. Burn outs are pretty much discouraged by all cops. Not only do burn outs cause excessive noise but the smoke produced can be almost an EPA violation. Add to that the discoloration marks (and there better be two) and of course the scaring of women and children.

All that being good reasons not to excessively accelerate yet ...

I take a country road when I drive to the casino. There is a stretch of road where you can tell a hot rodder lives. There are tire marks all over the road. I get tickled every time I see it.

When I was a kid at home, most of the girls had friends that would come by and honk their secret sorority honk (barf). I had people come torque their car up and smoke'm. Teeheehee

Yes, save it for the track and/or on private property. In CA we don't want to get "exhibition of speed" ticket, it carries 2 points like "reckless driving".

Speaking of little things, another nice little thing is a bit of (just a bit versus previously none) exhaust noise from Lexus in some of it's later sport IS/GS sedans. Again, about time given the competition in sport sedans and the need for some character. Also Lexus offerening F-Sport accessores including F-Sport exhaust is a good trend.

Posted

I totally agree. My F-Sport package was only $2400. It was so worth it to me. My rims and trim package makes my car look and handle way sportier than a regular ISc.

Posted

Yeah, almost wish I had gotten the 350 F Sport. Missed one by a few hours. Cars change and if they turbo these things in a few years it may be time. Meanwhile I am planning pursuit of my goal in life. Having fun, and this IS helps.
