nelks Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Hello all. I recently found out that my oil pan gasket was leaking and needed replaced on my 2004 RX330. The quoted price to repair was $350. However, I am pretty handy (change my own oil, rotors/brakes and wrote a tutorial on replacing the hub assembly) and was wondering if anyone can comment on how difficult a job this is? Outside of removing the sheilding underneath that is covering the oil pan, is there anything that would make this a difficult job that would warrant having a mechanic repair it? Any comments are appreciated. I also supposedly have an axle seal leak. From what I read, that job was a bit more complicated. However, if anyone has any insight into that job as well, please feel free to comment. :) Thank you in advance!
bayray Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 2009 Oil pan gasket replacement required special Lexus sealant material and time to dry. you need a lift... local shop repaired mine <$100.
