DimaDC
Everyone, Recently purchased '04 LX 470 with Navigation/DVD/Bluetooth. Works very well, however I want to be able to watch movies/enter address while driving. Took it to a professional, they told me that Lexus in 2004 completely changed wiring Navigation system and they not sure how to do override that DVD and NAV system. However they dont have any problems doing it to 2001-2003 models. Any advice would be appreciated.. Has anybody done similar things recently on 2004 vehicle? roberttran
I heard that its near impossible to mod the '04 without breaking something. I guess they really don't want people messing with their nav system. I think the nav system now checks multiple things to confirm conditions that allow you to use the system and not just one little wire sensing the speed. -Robert
parker@312
I just bought a 2002 and would like to override the navigation. How do you go about getting it done?
DimaDC
I just bought a 2002 and would like to override the navigation. How do you go about getting it done? 2002 is not a problem. Contact www.Nav-TV.com, they would locate a dealer in your area.

stagerdr
Go here, do it you self and save some cash:http://forums.vmag.com/suvlc0199/messages/2488.html Do these instructions apply to the 2004 LX 470? If not does anybody know if it can be done (easily)?
greggebhardt
I unserstand you need to remove the screen from the dash to install the device. Thats a little more involved than I want to get. Taking apart my dash on my 2004 LX is not my idea of a fun weekend. :(
zube
It is the same on the 2004.
pemarsh
Are we for SURE this applies to the 2004 also????? This WOULD allow for navi data entry while driving???? Anyone done this themsleves yet??? Anyone take it to a place to get it done yet???
nicoff
It is the same on the 2004. ← Zube, are you 100% sure? I was thinking of taking the info to a local audio installer and see what they could do. I tell you, the navi system in these LX/LC have to be one of the most cumbersome and least user friendly that I have ever seen. Once you experience a true state-of-the-art, voice activated and fully integrated navi system (like the one in the new Acura RL) you realize how antiquated the navi in the LX/LC really is. I am willing to give Toyota/Lexus one year to see what they come up with on the 2006 model. If they do not drastically change their navi systems I will be one looking elsewhere. ghitos73
Is the DVD Override any different for a 2005 LX470? I am interested in doing it myself. I can stand not being able to make phone calls, enter address for GPS, etc. In return, I would be willing to take some photos (step by step) since I have not seen one posted so far. Please advise. I really appreciate it.
