Latoilette Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 hi, i've asked this question before. my a/c got overcharged. and i thought my compressor was dead, so i installed a new a/c compressor. after charging, a/c still doesn't work. someone told me that there is blow off disc inside of the high pressure line (from compressor to condenser) is this true? can anyone confirm this? also, is blow off disc same as expansion valve?
mnm Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 The expansion valve is located on the evaporator(just had to change mine). The disc you speak of I believe is a relief valve which is normally located external of compressor. It is supposed to relieve excessive pressure. If you could provide more details about how the system is operating such as lo/hi pressure readings, line temps, etc. I think we can figure this out.
