That just takes me to your AOL sign in page.

I can drive 55.........in a 35 mph zone. Teeheehee

Lets start a protest movement to eliminate speed limits for all Lexus automobiles. They already make everyone else look like they are standing still..LOL

I agree wholeheartedly. The rural, curvy route I take to the casino is so enviting of a full throttle. Too bad the speed limit is 45. Oh well.....that is why I have a radar detector on my dash.

Yes, Lexus drivers should be given extra slack with speed limits.

I've never been known for a light foot but there is wayyyyyy too many cops out there now equipped with all kinds of nasty revenue generating equipment. Not much for them to do anymore than catch you. Best to hang at 10+ of less unless you are willing to get bagged. I hate it of course because I could easily run 90 or more but as you all know, revenue is everything. Sad to say that driving in America has now become where the cops are more dangerous than the robbers

Especially in VA, isn't it illegal to use a radar detector there?

Yep, we are the tax-paying non-criminals that have to watch out the most, easy targets.

Yes, although the law is in contradiction to the Federal Communication Act of 1934 and several subsequent rulings, the law remains intact? Either way a ticket for detector is a non moving equipment type violation. With all the new electronics on cars they are invisible. You can even buy Garmin type navigation units with radar detectors. Besides, with a V1, the work even pretty well even inside the console.

Good info on the VA (chicken sh**) detector law. Thanks.

I'm still waiting for improved laser detection technology...

Otherwise (at least in California) keeping to 10over max, or 80mph indicated on freeways, no prob.

This is the reason I bought a 250 instead of springing for a 350. If you googled the town I live in, you would see that it is the biggest speed trap in the state. You best not get over 40 mph.

I have a little funny story about the last time I got wild in this town. Back when I still had my Z28, I was coming home from a car club meeting and feeling frisky. That car was a real redneck delight. Loud pipes, supercharger....the works. I was coming through a warehouse area, and being a Saturday, it was completely deserted. I stopped the car, looked around....there wasn't anybody in site. I torqued it up and nailed it. Burned the tires all the way through 2nd gear, fish tailing all the way. A real yeehaw moment. When I slowed back down to cruising speed, I looked in my mirror and there was a white charger right on my !Removed!. I just kept looking straight ahead and drove the speed limit. He came up beside me, cruised there a second and took on off. He was probably laughing when he saw an old lady driving the car. If I had been a young man, he would have nailed me. I would love to have heard the stories he told back at the station.

It was then and there I decided I really didn't need a hot rod anymore. I don't go to the track anymore and there is nowhere you can really enjoy horsepower. Sad. :-(

^ Good story. Yes I've done my share of V8 powered burnouts without police involvement fortunately.

My taste as a mature adult is high performance in a steathier mode. That's why I prefer more conservative colors on highest powered cars.

I seriously considered and almost bought the IS350 F type. Very sweet car but after I test drove one, well I felt it was more than I needed which combined with my lack of resistance, I didn't care for the F type grill, nor the only available color in silver. They had a sweet white (required color) AWD and after a test drive, I figured the 250 was more than adequate for my highway transportation needs and even has a little pipe when you get on it hard. I hardly ever drive it in town because I use that big ole 350 and the 12 bolt in the silverado for that. Luckily, when my wife is home, she likes the silverado which is good because I don't want her tempted to drive the IS. I also usually hide the key fob if the car is there and I'm not. Can't be too careful you know.

Drove from Syracuse to Boston today and averaged 27.9 mpg @ 75 mph using Sunoco 93 and normal cruise. Still have yet to try the ECON mode but don't sit around holding your breathe for that because had I wanted economy, there would be a white Prius in the garage.
