Check Engine Light

hello, i have a 95 es300 with about 150k miles. the other week the check engine light came on and i took it to a certified mechanic. he tested and ran the error codes and everything came back ok. he tested the egr valve and it passed all tests. the light stayed off for about a week and it came back on again. has anyone had the same problem with a egr valve? if so, is it ok to keep driving it with the check engine light on? the car is running great without any problems. any suggestions on how i can clean the egr valve?

It is common for all toyotas for some reason to have egr's that get fouled up over time.

It depends on if it is staying open or closed.

mine has a problem staying open which i don;t mind since it lowers my emmisions and increases my gas mileage but does lower the performance slightly.
