I am planning on buying a new set of Foose LUSSO wheels for my SC430. I think I will stay with 18 inch wheels as I like the ride right where it is. I know the existing wheels are 18" X 8" with a 114.3 PCD and 5 bolts. When I went to the Foose site and entered my vehicle and model number in the configuator, I got back the following list of options:

Follow this link to see the LUSSO...it is the first "star shaped" wheel on the Mercedes (top of page).

Which of these options will fit my tires best? Anyone know what the offset is on my OEM wheels? Do you think these will look nice on the vehicle? Any other recommendations?

Time to spend some money and spruce up the SC. By the way, car color is silver.

The bigger the wheel the harsher the ride. Do you have run-flats now? Stock wheels and anything but run-flats will increase ride comfort. Asking what size wheel/tire combo is best is like asking what size turkey do you want for Thanksgiving. It's all about taste and preference.

Don't stray too far from OEM offset. You may encounter problems. I do not know the SC430 offset but I would imagine it is near +50. If so, anything beyond +35 is going to potentially present issues. The best way to know is to test fit a wheel. Try to find a shop that will let you test fit a wheel of similar size and offset to give a better idea of clearance. OEM SC430 wheels are 18" correct? +2 is not a bad upsize. Sidewall will effect ride quality before tire size. Keep in mind, you will want to keep near the same overall diameter though after the tires are mounted.

I would stick with 18" wheels unless you always travel on smooth roads. The larger the wheel diameter the less the sidewall diameter which results in a harsher ride and the likelyhood you will damage your rims the first time you hit a good sized pothole. The original wheels look much better if you take off the decorative chrome disk and show the 5 spoke design as Lexus has done with the 2004 model. You might consider running the stock wheels this way and investing in some better tires that are not run flats. Tirerack.com has excellent info on tire upgrades. You will save a small fortune and improve the looks, ride and handling of your car. Just my opinion..............
