PhillyIS04 Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Im there. I have a bLack 04 Is300. COUNT ME IN!!
steviej Posted April 10, 2004 Author Posted April 10, 2004 Awesome Philly. There is a whole crew coming from Philly. You will be able to meet many of you locals. I think there is even a caravan in the works from Philly. So far there is potentially over 125 cars planning on being there. This thing is going to be huge. steviej
steviej Posted April 11, 2004 Author Posted April 11, 2004 A very good question was raised. How will we know each other when we get there? I'll be the one driving a Lexus. OK, seriously. It was suggested on CL that we have name tags in our front window. I am going to print one out on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet (landscape) and have my screen name on it. Put both names if you have a different one on CL or MBWorld, etc. I say we try and get there a little early, say noon, and get the jump and make an LOC corner. If they do it like at Alley Pond Park, they will try to group the cars by models, which is totally cool and makes picture taking very organized. steviej
steviej Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 To the LOC members going, update on the meet. A. I will have the following LOC flyers (lets put one on every Lex in the parking lot). :whistles: Plenty of large LOC window stickers (gold letters) and small black retangular LOC window stickers with gold lettering. I have a limited supply of medium size LOC window stickers in some really cool colors (yellow, gold, silver, blue, and white). The blue is wicked nice, but it won't go with my silver......I don't think. Let me know your preference first, or they will go to the masses. +++++++++++++++++++++ B. Raffle (copied from CL) updated 4/18/04 General raffle for universal prizes. * 3 ticket maximum per person. No exceptions. * $1 per ticket. * Participants must purchase tickets for the raffle that represents the car they own. Those tickets purchased will be reused in the general raffle for universal prizes. (Lexus owners will be asked to write the model of the car on the back of the ticket) * All prize winners MUST be present at the meet and during the raffle drawings. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. If the holder of the winning ticket is not present, a redraw will be done. * Raffle participants MAY NOT purchase tickets for other members. * The raffle will not be limited to forum members, but we will require that ONLY BMW, Lexus and Mercedes OWNERS can participate, for obvious reasons. If there are any questions about this please PM DGOT20s, lexusk8, tommy @ mbworld.org, or MSBoy. * Winners of raffle prizes will be asked to take a photo beside their car along with the prize won and a banner of the sponsor who donated the prize (if a banner is available). * EVERYONE is REQUIRED to have FUN! The following items are to be raffled off (thanks very much to our sponsors!): * Courtesy of Steve Ganz from Carson Toyota: (1) TOM'S vintage oil cap (1) TOM'S vintage shift knob (1) TOM'S radiator cap (fits all GS and IS models, and '93-'97 LS) (1) set of TRD license plate screws (1) TRD fuel cap cover (1) TRD leather shift knob (1) TRD performance air filter & cleaner kit (fits all GS300 and GS400 models) * Courtesy of Sal Zaino from Zaino Bros: (1) Zaino "starter" kit, consisting of Z1, Z2, Z6, Z7, and applicator pad * Courtesy of Darrell Diller from Sewell Lexus: (14) Lexus mug warmers (6) Lexus key chains (6) Lexus key chains w/ LED pointer (3) Lexus stainless steel coffee mugs (1) complete line of Lexus authentic car care products (1) lambs wool car mitt (1) multi-function garden hose adapter * Courtesy of Method MotorWorks: (1) set of H&R sport springs to any Lexus, BMW or Mercedes-Benz owner (voucher provided) * Courtesy of Gaston from Auto Class: (1) H&R suspension kit (1) Eibach suspension kit * Courtesy of Jon from MPerformance: (1) ground control rear shock mounts (1) E46 WheelPower angel eyes (non-enhanced) (1) UUC TME w/ red bushings (1) UUC RK e-brake handle * Courtesy of Joel from Bavarian HyperSports: (1) E46 M3 Pulley Kit (1) E46 M3 Stainless Steel Brake Lines * Courtesy of JB from Bimmerfreak: (1) set of WheelPower Halos (2) sets of stealth bulbs (2) sets of blacked-out kidney grills (voucher provided) CLASSIFIEDS: Everyone is certainly welcome to bring car-related items to sell to others interested. If you plan on doing so, it would help to make a post within this thread stating the item(s) you are bringing and selling at the meet, description, and asking price. In this manner, everyone can see what is going to be sold at the meet and can plan accordingly. PAULGS430 is selling (3) HYPER REV Aristo 2 mag. vol. #69 = $30. steviej is bringing a new set of Lexus black pearl emblems for a 1997-2001 ES300 = price unknown. Djdelite is selling a VIP Lexus JDM catalog = $20. C. Get there early. There are about 165 potential cars going to be there. The meet orgainzers have secured a permit for the parking lot for up to 100 cars. If all are on their best behavior, then there shouldn't be any problems or anyone turned away. Everyone please read the following! (1) No speeding, erratic driving or racing- If there is any of this type of behavior, it will not be looked upon kindly. There is a great danger when a large number of vehicles are speeding on public roadways. The last thing we want to do is endanger the safety of our forum members, and that of people on the roads in general. This includes any overly aggressive swerving, cutting people off, etc. As there will be a few caravans en route to the meet, there could be potential for catastrophe if someone decides to do their best "Fast and Furious" impression. Maintaining a safe speed on the road and not tailgating other cars can easily reduce this. (2) No Loud Music, Burnouts, Excessive Revving- Since we are going to be gathering in a public area, we will most likely be under much scrutiny from park security and local law enforcement. This meet could be ended very quickly with a "loud music" call to the police. The same holds true for excessive revving, burnouts, etc. The organizers of this meet understand that there will be people present that have EXTENSIVE audio/visual mods done to their rides, and want to showcase them. We fully understand and endorse that, but ask that you keep your demonstration short and sweet to avoid any unwanted attention. Those with exhaust mods, will be asked to do the same, just a couple revs to "show what 'cha got" not sitting there bumping against the rev limiter. Burnouts/donuts, etc will simply NOT be tolerated at this meet. (3) No Cross Brand flames- This meet has great potential to birth a wealth of hybrid meets/collaborations in the future. This could be a networking opportunity of great proportions! Just think of all the tuners, shops, online resources, etc. that could be shared amongst 3 premier luxury vehicle groups! The last thing we want to do is let a few snide comments undermine this effort. The fact of the matter is, we all drive what we drive for a reason, that reason being solely important to us as individuals, let's respect that decision across ALL brands. No matter what, WE ALL STILL LOVE OUR CARS! So let's leave any pre-conceived notions at home and come with an open mind and respect for each other and have a GREAT TIME! (4) Alcohol Consumption- Due to the rules & regulations of the public parks, we are going to ask everyone to refrain from bringing alcohol to this meet. D. Rain date: In case of rain cancellation. the alternate date will be Sunday, 5/2/04. Please watch this web site up to the last minute if weather becomes questionable. E. Contact information. My cell phone is 781-775-9264 and I will have that with me. steviej
PhillyIS04 Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 So Where do we meet exactly? At the Park or should LOC meet somewhere then roll up together. Are we also still doing the sign in the window deal? I think meeting up will give us a chance to know who is who.
steviej Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 I think the sign in the window should be done, if anything to give credit to the owner in any pictures that may be taken of your car......and so we can find one another. I would say get there and grab a corner. I have not heard if they are going to try to group the cars or clubs or models together. We did this at a previous meet and it worked well. Most of the formalities are worked out on site. It would be cool if LOC could group together......but it ain't our meet, we a but guests. Let's just go with the flow. steviej

PhillyIS04 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Is this the list from this site? Because if it is you forgot me!
PharmGuy Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Hey Philly, It's ok----- I think this listing is the group from clublexus.com. I "peeped" at their site and the list matched mostly. Don't worry---LOC will be there, Besides, I looked to see if anyone else was coming with an RX-300. They have 1 from clublexus.com on their list. PharmGuy "Any chance we get listed differently from SUV?=== LEX_UV sounds better!!"
steviej Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 Philly, i didn't forget you. Look on page 1 of this thread. you are listed. That long list is from CL. just a hint of what cars are going to be there. There are people coming from Philly and i started a thread with a link for caravan infor. PharmGuy, I am meeting two others for the ride. You are welcome to caravan with us. We will be meeting before we get on 84. I will hit you up with more details ASAP.
steviej Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 For all those going we are supposedly meeting in Grove 1: Hey kids, just thought some of you might like to know where Grove 1 is located. Roosevelt Park is a good size and you could wander for a while before you find it. the easiest way to get to Grove 1 is to take Route 1 to Parsonage Road heading North. essentially, keep the Mall on your left while on Parsonage from Route 1. after you pass the mall you'll come to a stop light. make the left onto Oakwood Avenue. you'll see a hospital on your left after you make the turn on Oakwood. directly opposite the hospital entrance is the entrance to Grove 1 (which is on the right side). you'll actually see the parking lot on the right before you reach the entrance to it. if you look at the Yahoo map (on the first page of this thread) you'll see a lake. that's where Grove 1 is. it has ample parking to fit a number of cars, BUT Grove 1 is also the spot where the lake is. there is also a good sized jungle jim for the kiddies, and there's some sort of asphalt soccer field there as well (i dunno...i just calls them as i see's them) it's like a rec area. there are two parking lots there and another that almost circles the lake. the one furthest from the lake is only a single-lane parking, but is nice and long. the other is a good sized lot but that may be where we have the most competition from non-meet people. if you enter the park from anywhere else, just follow signs for the ice skating rink. that's also where Grove 1 is. FOOD: there is a Wendy's, McDonald's, and White Castle within a 1/4 mile of the park. there's also a diner and some restaurants in the same area. dummy me forgot to check to see if there were grills at the Grove 1 spot, but for some reason i think there are. if not, then they are a bit of a walk away. gas statons are all around too for those who'd like to top-off before heading back on the road for home. steviej
PhillyIS04 Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 I cant wait for this. I want to see all the cars. I hope we have a fun time and get to meet some great people. I'm only 20 tho. I feel like im gonna be one of the youngest. hehe. But we'll see. I got my poster all ready. Name is John by the way..
steviej Posted April 24, 2004 Author Posted April 24, 2004 I'll save the last two for you. They are easy to put on. I'll bring the windex wipes so that you can clean the window, too. steviej
roberttran Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 God my arms are so sore from detailing my car. See you all tomorrow!!! (^_^) -Robert
PharmGuy Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 I checked the weather for Edison, NJ. Supposed to be partly cloudy, about 60's or so. NO rain----"amazing how that happens, they plan an event a couple of month in advance, and it's ok. I plan a cookout for the next day, and BANG it rains-- go figure." PharmGuy
steviej Posted April 25, 2004 Author Posted April 25, 2004 Have faith boys. It never rains when I going to a meet. I'll see you all tomorrow. It's late and I got a long drive. Paul, I got your email.....see you in Danbury. I contacted Lexusk8 (black 01 ES 300), he will keep and eye out for you at the mall. steviej
