Captain Willard Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I'm considering purchasing a used gs 450h, (probably 07-09) and was wondering the following: 1. Are the mileage claims reasonably true? 2. Is it as reliable as a standard gas-only powered car? 3. Are there things to beware of when owning an "h"? Extra maintenance? Consumables, etc.? 4. Is buying one with 50k miles on it a sane thing to do? (Obviously, if it's been well maintained). I hear all the rant about lexus/toyota realiablity - does that apply to the hybrid models? I like the 460, but thought it'd be nice to get better mileage. thanks!
SW03ES Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm going to move this to the appropriate forum, welcome to the site!
Captain Willard Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks - I was wondering why no replies. Thanks!
paulslate Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I just bought a 2011 GS450h with 32,000 miles. Love it. Getting around 30mpg on last 150 miles. It is a wonderful car. Only had it 3 days....
rhwimmers Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Love mine. No hidden fees, tires may wear faster due to weight but I haven't noticed yet.my hihy I've definitely noticed faster tire wear though. I get 22 - 29 mpg... is hard not to drive it fast! (worse fuel economy)
CitationCapt Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Just over 100,000 miles and the hybrid battery failed. $7000 forked over. Last Lexus hybrid for me.
