My parents have a 2000 Lexus RX300. About 6 months ago it developed a parasitic drain that would completely drain the battery if it sat for a few days. I tested the current draw for all the fuses under the hood and found the DOME fuse was consistently drawing about 0.5 amps with the doors closed and the interior lights off. I removed the DOME fuse and the battery has maintained its charge after sitting for several weeks. Odd thing is that when I removed the DOME fuse, we lost power to the radio and the center information panel. I don't know why the radio and information panel would be effected by the DOME circuit. Is there a component that would interconnect the radio/information center to the Dome circuit? Thanks, Gilbert
My 2015 RX 350 CD player won't display the song/track titles. The dealer says that the software is up to date. They also say the CD has to have a Gracenote emblem on them to display the track names. I have over 500 CD's and none of them have a Gracenote emblem on them. If I place any of my CD's in a 2009 Nissan Murano (which also uses Gracenote), the track titles are displayed. Has anyone else experienced this?
I just purchased a 2004 GX470 about a month ago. It has the Marc Levinson sound system with navigation, cassette radio unit with a multi-disc player in the glove box. When you push the Audio button the nav screen, all the screen says is "Audio Off" with no audio coming from the radio. When my lights are on at night, I noticed the radio unit itself is not illuminated which makes me believe I have a power issue possibly to the radio unit. After some research, I did come across the Service manual for the radio ( http://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...-toyota_kex-m8527-kex-m8727_servicemanual.pdf ).
If I put in a destination in the navigation, you can hear the audible instructions. If you push the other buttons on the nav screen, you can hear an audible tone at the press of the button. However, when you push the audio button, it just gives you the message "audio off". I brought a multimeter home from work the other night to check the power coming through the wiring harnesses and from what I could tell, I am not getting any power. (***Side note - I know enough to be dangerous but I do not claim to be a technician by any means and most of my information is from some engineering friends and YouTube...). I referenced the various pin positions in the radio service manual to know which ones to check. I also checked with the vehicle key turned to ACC mode and then also checked with the engine running. Both times, it didn't appear that I had any power coming through to the radio unit. I also checked the fuses and they all seemed to be fine.
I called one of the local car audio shops here in town that I received a good recommendation from and he basically said good luck and they wouldn't touch it with being OEM and knowing all the issues that the Marc Levinson system has had.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Any ideas on where the power would actually be coming from that feeds the radio head unit? The wire schematic is included on the service manual but it's tough to make heads or tails of it.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
I got (in Europe) US 2003 1st gen Rx300.
About a year ago i have managed to change stereo from us (no navi) to UK version (with navi) and all was fine (bit os soldering was needed as plugs on both radios are different.
However now my radio sometimes has no sound for few hours/days and after that plays fine for few hours/days.
When I loose audio, under sound control I am missing MID range control and although i can see Bass/Treble + Left/Right & Front/Back controls they don't work - no level visible.
From what I understand it is an amplifier issue. I already got a new -second hand - one, but from UK market.
Now, I can not find info what is the difference between:
86100-48050 - US version and 86100-48040 UK version
Also, (before I get to my amplifier) would any of you have pictures of sockets/plugs in US amplifier?
I could make sure my plugs will fit into UK amplifier before I unscrew everything.
I attached pictures of UK amplifier
6 months ago I purchased a Certified Pre Owned LX 570 and have been loving it so far. However, yesterday the sound suddenly cut off while I was driving. Did some reading and found that these Mark Levinson amplifiers have been acting up since 2001 vehicles. I took the vehicle to the dealer and confirmed that the issue was the amplifier and enquired as to why haven't Lexus done anything about this issue which seems to be over 16 years old. I spoke to someone and they suggested there may be ground for a class action lawsuit based on the number of vehicles that have had this issue. I am curious as to how many have had this problem to see if there is indeed a systematic issue or if they are isolated incidents.
Look forward to hearing back.
