LexBob2 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 It's been confirmed that ES350 production is being moved from Japan to Toyota's Kentucky plant. This has been rumored for quite a while and is now official. It makes sense since the Avalon and Camry lines have been there for years.
LexBob2 Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 I just noticed a couple of typos in the thread title. It should read ES350 To Be Built In U.S. (Ky). Sorry...
GrnIdKjun Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I'm curious how well this will be executed. Will there be upholstery workers in Ky as well? If so, will they have to pass the origami test I've read about: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/08/why-it-takes-mad-origami-skills-to-work-as-a-lexus-upholsterer/ I'm also wondering if this will make the models mfg through 2014 in Japan more desirable to those who prefer to purchase CPO. Any thoughts?
